Another Tu-95 intercept, with pictures.

Here is a picture taken on February 9th, 2008. It clearly shows the outline of what is definitely a Tu-95, and than the unmistakable silhouette of an F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. It flew too close to the Nimitz and was intercepted.

What do you think of this? Those Rooskies are getting a little too close for comfort these days.

hmmmm was this the one mentioned a few weeks ago as flying an air display over the deck of the nimitz?

I believe that must be it, I also suspect that photo was taken from the deck of the Nimitz - and judging by the quality of the "hi res" version, apparently by a sailor with a cellphone camera

It obviously wasn't a staff photographer, the Navy website always credits them by name.
