Child Abuse by the Government

What kind of society rips a 17-year-old autistic boy from his loving home and places him in a state-run mental institution, where he is given heavy doses of drugs, kept physically restrained, kept away from his family, deprived of books and other mental stimulation and is left alone to rot?

A very interesting piece and completely outrageous on so many levels. From where I sit it is a clear case of our government having WAY too much authority and power to simply do what they feel is best while completely overriding the parents wishes and their years of experience in dealing with this child's handicaps. I am almost speechless after reading this.....

I Have Tried to tell people about it for year's not just special needs children , I was taken from a loving grandmother because my mother wanted me back , then my mother lost rights to me after abandoning me . they refused to give me back to my loving grandmother and put me in a Facility where , i was "Diagnosed" and medicated , no matter weather i had an issue or not , the pol;icy in these places i lived , no mater what i was to medicated. No matter weather a doc said i have no issues.

I was secluded from family , friends and medicated heavily no matter what i did.

you should also know at least in TN and MO , and female over the age of 12 or in active menses is FORCED (or Mandatory ) Administered Deproprovera shots (A drug originally created to sedate and sterilize Schizophrenics that was latter modified to be used as a birth control). THe Side Effects and long Term Damage by these drugs used on adolescents have not even been studied thoroughly) I know that from 1996 foward i was administered Anti Pschycotics , against my will , against FDA reccomendation and without acess to drug info or even a right to refuse (I was told you refuse to take it you dont get fed , and when pushed i wound up sedtaed with thorazine , administered the meds and secluded in a solitary confinement) . This happens to nearly all children removed from homes that are over the age of 11 (10 and younger are placed in foster or other homes easily older children are not)

May I ask what general area this happened in?

I realize all to well how the systems work. I had many "issues" myself when I was growing up. I however never was medicated. I was held in the system until my original "charges" equaled the maximum sentence for an adult and by law they had to release me. Which is also included any additional "charges" you get when moving from home to home to home. I was freed from it by the time I was 16 so I feel like I still had a chance.

Middle TN , I was placed with Others who had stolen cars and robbed houses. WE were all equeal in Facillity , even if i was just abandoned.

All equeal and all just treated as rough.

Social workers have sold their souls to the devil. Even on my worst days I wouldn't trade places with social workers for any amount of money or status. Psychiatry is an arrogant profession. To date they have never once successfuly treated an Autistic. Behavioral psychologists have the greatest success rate when it comes to Autism. If the idiot social worker had bothered to do some research (maybe five minutes) he or she would have known this. I wonder if the institute maybe paid the social worker to place the boy into its talons. Whatever the case the institute , the state and the social worker all need to be sued for every dime they have.
