Human Faces

Hi

I would like to throw this question into the arena if i may?

Why do us humans have a face? everyone has a unique face. i see tribes on tv with very similair faces. But we all in this day and age have a different face.
i dont think any other species may have such a different front!

does anyone know the true reason or belief?

I've seen tribes on TV and the individuals all look pretty different to me... maybe it's just because of my pretty heterogenous upbringing?

The reason for it is, rather obviously, so we can recognize individuals.

yes you are right ! but why do we need to recognise each other?
Animals do it with smell and scent and other senses. why have a face?

I think that would indicate that we as humans have no other good sense to ever rely on.

Only the look on your kins face will stop you from natural instincts such as murder,rape and all sorts of evil to them.

Actually, we don't. Like most primates, we rely on vision for most of our sensory input. So visual cues about individuality make the most sense. We also have individual body odor and voices

Other animals also have different faces and voices.

Why do we need to recognize each other? Well, breeding would be really awkward if we couldn't tell each other apart, for starters!

And, er... I dunno about you, but I lack the "natural" instincts to rape and murder...

Animals do have their own faces and sounds that are individual to each creature yes! I just thought we have such identifiable faces, and what would that reason be?
