What is the best console?

I was just wanting to know everybody's favorite console of this generation.

Mine is the Gamecube, with nothing else following close. The major reason for that is their own 1st party games. Zelda: The Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros., Metroid Prime, Pikmin, and Mario Kart can easily whip any of the other games on the market right now, especially Zelda. Zelda has gotten probably the most acclaim out of any game in the past three years. It has been universally hailed as the #1 game of this generation's console. The reason XBox did not earn this title with me is because of how few games that are exclusive to this system. The only two worthwhile that I can think of is Halo and Knights of the Old Republic. PS2 has had quite a bad showing since the two other consoles have been on the market. They used to have exclusive to Tony Hawk, GTA, and Metal Gear and Resident Evil. Its all rolling downhill for them. Hopefully, the next gen will be nicer to all three, but I feel justified in my answer as Nintendo holding Console of the Generation.

Xbox, Im sure, but i am a long time Sony lover. I love the PS2.

The end of this year the Ybox and PS3 (it has another name.) around the same time. I will for sure be getting the PS3.

Nawww XBOX all the way...i modded it with an X-Ecuter Lite and loaded EvoX onto it....I got all of Blockbusters errr i mean My games backed up onto the 160gb hdd i put in. The main reason tho is Halo...that game ROX!!....Halo2...will be better.

Nah...the best console was the Atari with the game of that guy who swing on ropes and have to jump over crocodiles that don't even look like crocodiles.

Now THAT was good console gaming.

Just kidding...

For me, it would be a tie between the X-Box and PS2, as I don't own any of them, have played both and liked them both. But of course the newers ones will probably kick arses.

I prefer Xbox over them all right now. I think I still play my Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64 more than my xbox, though.

I still think the Gamecube has the most fun games on any of the systems...

Sega had the most fun games, but for todays games I'd have to say PS2. Name a game that is good that you can't buy for it.

EXACTLY. I couldn't have said it better. I LOVE my GameCube TONS.

I've loved Nintendo since the days of the SNES. I'm gonna love em until they leave the gaming business. (WHICH, seems to be a LONG TIME from now!)

That's my choice... the NINTENDO GAMECUBE.

Dreamcast....jk! I would have to go with PS2. Their are very few exclusive Xbox games that even catch my attention.

PS2 gets my vote. I don't have any experience with the Gamecube.

PS2. Xbox can have all the technology it wants but the playstation still has all the best games. What does the Xbox really have other than Halo?

Dreamcast was WAY ahead of its time. Deffinatly my favorite system. I actually heard froma friend that there is some kind of disk out there that allows you to play ps2 games and x box games on the dreamcast. It makes sense. It runs as fast as the ps2....

Yeah, but I said GOOD games. I got Game Cube too AND all of the games you listed, but the worst PS2 game (Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen: Sweet 16) is better then all of those combined.
