Heres my story- I've seen UFOs 3 times, i have no clue what the lights in the sky were at the time, maybe military? But after the second time i convinced myself I needed to get a camera phone, so I would always be prepared, just "incase". . . well i did get a Camera phone, and last friday the 8th of Feb, i did witness a crazy light in the sky, and pulled over on the side of the road to capture the picture, the light was very bright, and moving fast across the sky, then it dissapeared, and reappeared heading more towards me, very bright light flying very high, much larger than a plane or sattelite, or star would look from very far away. . . but my point is, if anyone has ever tried to take a picture with a cell phone camera of something bright flying fast through the air, although it was clear as day to anyone viewing with the naked eye, my cell phone camera wouldn't pick it up, i only tried video, because i didn't have time to switch to still pictures. But my question for all the smart ATS' is how would you manage to film something like that? And around what would it cost for the equipment? I live in Belgium, near a NATO base and Air Force Base, and this sighting wasn't to far away, and afterwards there were jets flying relatively low in formation at that time of night, maybe scoping the area? i also tried to take pictures of the Jets, but all i got was a few strange lights (that actually looked more like a UFO, haha). . .

So please, anyone with information on a good camera that is readily available? im planning on buying one ASAP, as to not miss a thing!
*and if i do ever get video, im putting it on ATS first!

Well, first off, camera phones are very low quality and I wouldn't even consider using that to record ufos. Forget ufos for a second, go outside and try to film the moon with your camera phone. A blob of light just doesn't work for me. To record ufos, you would generally want a highspeed video camera with infrared night vision and a feature to manually adjust the light exposure.

Specific video camera models, I don't know, theres a lot out there and I have yet to make this decision for myself.

Just keep in mind that, if you want decent footage, you're going to spend a lot of money, you don't want anything cheap.

I would look for a camera or a video camera with the highest shutter speed.

From what I have seen, Sony seems to have the market cornered when it comes to "Night Vision" or "Night Shot" as they refer to it. Unfortunately they are not the best when it comes to "low light" situations (unless you use the "night shot" feature)

I would recommend looking for a camera with a low lux (1 or below). I think panasonic has a 1 lux camera as well as Sony. Keep in mind the Sony version that has the 1 lux does not have the "night shot".

Last note one the "night shot". I have noticed Sony's lower end cameras have the feature. So chances are if you are going for a "cheaper" camera with "night vision" that would be your best bet.

Lastly, if you do get a camera, make sure you do not go into the "digital zoom" whilst filming a UFO. That is when most videos get ultra blurry. And remember the lower the lux the better it performs in low light situations.
