I was wondering if anyone could give any detailed information on project Horizon which I belive took place in the 80's. All I know was that it was the U.S. Military's attempt at establishing a base on the dark side of the moon.

Project Horizon was a US army project started in 1959. The purpose was to build a base on the moon.

Couple of links:

en.wikipedia.org...

astronautix.com...

It was to be operational in 1966, but was scraped due to budget and other issues.

Considering that some whistle-blowers etc. claim there are still multi-trillion dollar black budgets floating within the government etc....

I have a hard time believing any project has ever been scrapped due to lack of resources. The government spends far more resources than we are even aware that we possess...

When it comes to conspiracy theories about bases on the moon etc. I'm afraid the only reason for someone to be skeptic is if they are incapable of thinking for themselves, using logic, etc. There is absolutely no reason to believe our government when it comes to major operations.

Sure there are lacks of resources. Just because they have a black budget doesn’t mean they can fund all the projects they want to.

Did anyone else notice the "Lunex Space Vehicle" looks strikingly close to how the Aurora is described to look?? I was momentarily shocked.

John Lears site has tons of pics claiming to show secret bases and stuff on the moon, and I think Hoaglands latest book touches on it too, but I could be wrong. In any case, I'm almost 100 percent in favor of the government hiding information about ops going on with the moon, some even say that the whole "we never really landed on the moon" was a lie intentionally created to hide the truth.

There's also absolutely no reason to believe they have a secret base on the moon either, besides to stroke our wildest imaginations.

Seriously I'm as keen on the idea of having bases on the moon and colonising other planets, but really sometimes we just have to accept reality.
