advanced physics concept in the bible

This is just part of my musings, and I just thought I'd share it with you people FWIW. I'd be the 1st to warn you to take everything with a grain of salt.

2 Peter 1:20

knowing this first, that no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation.

I think the following is proof positive that the holy bible was divinely inspired. People back in those days could have had no inkling of the profound physics they were trying as best they can to describe with their extremely limited knowledge.

2 Corinthians 12:2

I know a man in Christ, fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I know not; or whether out of the body, I know not; God knoweth), such a one caught up even to the third heaven.

Paul here, I think, could only be describing another dimension. He said THIRD heaven; implying there is a 1st & 2nd whatever.

Even today's physicists do not fully understand the concept but several models of the string theory suggests several dimensions.

I have only the vaguest of notions about the theory of dimensions but I will try to imitate Paul and try to explain as best I can with my limited knowledge.

I take the television as the simplest analogy of dimensions. There is just the one screen but there are several channels, even over a hundred...this is MY understanding of dimensions.

Do you see what I'm TRYING to say? This is what Paul was doing. He was relaying revealed information (revelation) to him as best as he could with his extremely limited knowledge which probably went right over his head anyway.

You might argue that that one passage was a fluke. But there are others:

Revelation 21:1-2

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more. (2) And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

Luke 20:34-35

And Jesus said unto them, The sons of this world marry, and are given in marriage: (35) but they that are accounted worthy to attain to that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

new heaven, new earth, new Jerusalen: different heaven, different earth, different jerusalem... in a different dimension he was being brought to. Its just a matter of perspective by the seer with his extremely limited understanding.

The idea if "different worlds" is an ancient social and mythological concept that has only recently gained any recognition in physics. It's more like physics catching up to this aspect of culture, than people being given advanced physics in ancient times
