Ghost, Time, and Dimension?

After viewing some of the ghost hunters shows, especially ones in Gettysburg, I am intrigued by how communication happens with Ghost as if they are in a different dimension, only way to see them most of the time is taking photos of nothing and they appear there. Some recording device is able to pick them up saying things a human ear cant pick up, its as if a gateway or dimension is present yet some how the ghost are able to stay stuck in time I would think, hard to really determine that.

When I hear alot of the videos talking about Aliens and how they want Earth to move into the next dimension, is that what they speaking of as the next dimension?

or could we be communicating with some type of time portal of whats happened then and these ghost are able to communicate through the future?

Its kind of icky, but it just seems to tie in with Alien beings in some way or another.
