I have been a member of this site for just over a year, a lurker for longer, and have enjoyed reading various topics that are only reported here.
But in that time there have been many many reports, stories, photos, documentaries, experts that have had something to say and yet we are no closer to REALLY knowing the truth now than when bob lazar said ufos were at S-4.

The problem is we are all waiting.
We are waiting for the big headline so we can say i told you so. But whos going to chase it. Who will knowingly endanger themselves to prove to the skeptics that we were right all along when they have a family to look after.

I sit at my pc everynight reading the stories hoping someone else has found something and yet always telling myself that one day when i dont have debts or people i care about around me or dreams of playing guitar at nebworth, famous uk venue, i will go out and investigate. You see i always find an excuse not to drive to a location someone has spoke about and see for myself whats going on. I know there will be many others out there who feel the same.
I always say that in my lifetime we will know the truth about ufos and aliens, be it real or not. Yet deep down i know this probably wont be true.

Its the idea of it being real that stops you getting too hung up on the mundane process of life. You can compare it to the matrix films.
There are those who go about life and can accept that you are educated, work, marry, kids, retire and die. These people do not see the problems of the world and will not listen to stories of secret gov. ufos, aliens etc.
Then there are those who realise that those in power are not there for the greater good but are there for there own ends, be it money, power or whatever they have in mind.

You see there are too many people like me who are expecting others to do the work but then claim to be part of the society that proved to the world whats going on.
I know there are people out there who do research and dedicate their lives to the subject but they will tell you that there arent enough people to really get to the bottom of things.
I believe that if we are going to find the truth then we all need to start researching. Do what we can, even if you think it wont make a difference its better than nothing.
The ufo subject has had some big stories come out yet they fail to yeild any evidence or amount to enough pressure for the truth to be known.
When a big story breaks we shouldnt let up. Weather anomolies, ball lightining, venus or plainly "we dont know" are not acceptable answers and we shouldnt let them get away with it.

People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.
If 6 billion people cant make a difference then god help us.

It would be nice to know who else feels that they could do more to help but are more content with waiting.

I would make the claim that we are waiting for ourselves.

While I agree with you, some may not. Some of us are sticking our heads in the sand, and whether or not, they're going to have to either get it out themselves, or be forced to take it out. IMO I think this year (and the next two) is/are the times to voluntarily pull our ostrich heads out of the sand, until the time is truly right. Past then, It will be pulled out, not of their own accord. Why do you think we're having all the sightings, including the UFO in TX, and all around the globe? Why is it being sensationalized? I think we're ready, and so do they. 'Nuff said

I dont think its a case of us being ready so "show us the goods"
If it were the case they would have told us already.
As they say "what do those with power want? more power!"
If a country had advanced alien tech then they know that it is a powerful tool.
The military, who most likely hold this tech, see all as a threat or weapon. Nuclear power is a good source of energy but look how we use it.
As a means to destroy each other.
If the technology was released into the public domain then gov. would lose control.
The governments can see what we could make of it and are scared.
But its not their decision to make, Its ours.
This is why we need to make the effort to get the info out and not rely on others.

I say go join MUFON. Then you can go out into the field and directly talk to people about the weird light they saw out in the woods. Be right there where it happened.

But people have been doing that for 40 years now, and it's arguable that we haven't gotten any closer to finding out what these buggers are in all that time. We're pretty much where we started. Why is that?

Maybe because, as mentioned above, it's not up to us. The best potential information, possibly compiled by the government from secure radar and satellite monitoring, is classified for national security reasons. On the other end of the equation, the aliens or time travelers or whoever apparently are content to let us look but not touch or find out anything more about them.

I personally don't know of any way to force either of these groups of people/aliens give me more information. So, we wait for some event that makes it impossible to ignore or cover up.

Anyway, what's your hurry? Keep your pants on. Not everything in this world is instant gratification, you know, and a good chunk of it is zero gratification. We could all be long dead before anybody figures out what the real deal is.

I know "patience is a virtue" but we have been waiting many years now.
This has been going on long before you and i were born.
It has to be said that the world is changing. The climate, maybe, society, definitely.
Maybe another 50-60 years is too late.
This isnt just about ufos and aliens its about everything connected with the way we live.
For 50 years we have asked our gov. to tell us what they know and all they have done is denied knowledge.
This info will change alot more things than technology and space travel.

I think more and more people are questioning the complete lies they are being fed by government agencies and the media. The first Step is to make people step back from their everyday lives are really ask, 'can I trust these agencies?'. In my opinion Hoaglands book about Nasa is doing exactly that even if it might be abit farfetched and to much to handle at some points, for your average Joe, but he has got people realising, 'Hey we are being fed bullsh!t here!' When people realise this there will be alot less hostility and mockery towards the UFO subject. If we achieved that, then hey I would be happy!

There are four steps to everthing you learn, be it Quatum Physics or riding a bicycle.

Step 1 - Unconcious Incompetence.
When you dont no something, and you dont even know there is anything to really be known. ( lets say you dont know a bike exists, so you wouldnt know how to ride one)

Step 2 - Concious Incompetence
When you conciously know that there is something to be learnt about the specific subject. ( in the bike example, you would now know what a bike is that it can be ridden but you cant ride one or are in the process of learning).

Step 3 - Concious Competence
When it takes all you concious attention to exercise the new skill you have learnt.

Step 4 - Unconcious competence
When your Unconcious can simply manage the skill/task/knowledge by itself.

What i'm basically pointing at is that there are alot of people out there totally oblivious to the fact they have the wool pulled over their eyes, and we need to be the ones to make them realise this, or 'Wake the hell up' as most would put it. So that they know there is something worth knowing!

So how can we help do this you may ask?

Well there are a few clear things.
-Make the UFO topic more approachable for the public and media.
-keep researching
-keep watching the skies (with a camera)
-Catch the agencies in their lies
-Get your friends interested and talking about the subject
-work to disprove disinformation
-Submit stupendous amounts of FOIA requests
-open up to people about your experiences, and make them realise other people take you seriously, (people are sheeple)
-Upload as much UFO footage as possible to internet video sites like youtube/stage6
-Start a ufo channel in youtube (if there is not already one)
-Research blackbudget spending plus the blackops MIC companies
-Talk to any government official you can get your hands on, about getting clear disclosure about the total size of the black budget.
-Talk to friends/contacts in the press and note any media gag orders
-introduce people to the ATS community
-get organised

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I completely agree with the OP on this one. This year, however, I am planning three trips to areas that are known hotspots for UFO activity, and I have been practicing everyday with my new HD video camera, and also taking photos with my new Sony. its alot harder than it looks to get clear photos of moving objects. (plus, try using two cameras at once!) I also just read a post with the question of what to do if you found (wait for it).. an actual craft or alien body! (dead or alive) I think that we should think about these things before hand. I myself have gone out of my way to contact sources that can disseminate my information, and validate it as well. You can bet for sure that if I had irrefutable proof, that everything else in my life would take a back seat. I actually almost went to texas during this last event. Anyway, I still lurk the internet, hitting up the hottest boards now before I go out anywhere thats more than an hours drive. hat way I can travel "wide" if there is something worth recording.
I wish more people would take my challenge to heart. Watch the skies more, and learn the difference between manmade and unnatural phenomena.
Even I have a siting of a weird flying thing, and my cameras were unable to get a clear shot! ( to be fair, I only had like 15 secs, and a 2.o envy camera phone)
I guess my point is, we can only do so much, but even a little extra by alot of people would mean the difference.
Because all we are waiting for is to be told we are not crazy.

Thank you for your post. You have the determination obviously to see things through and i admire people who go out of their way for no apparent self gain.
I have just puchased a video camera myself and will always keep it charged just in case. As i live in the countryside near a few airbases there are always things to see at night and the stars are very clear as there is no light pollution.
The mistake people make is they use the digital zoom and this is where a planes flashing light can look light plasma or whatever.

This is what i am talking about though, we need more people to research sightings and study cases and try and come up with some proof.
It wont be handed to us on a silver platte.

Thank you for your post. I,m glad other people are aware that we need to do something more than we are doing. Also you gave a very detailed list of what we can do to progress in our research which should be a good starter if people are stuck for how they can help.

I,m wondering if anyone else is planning any trips for this year.

With regards to telling family and friends about the subject you keep their interest all they way until you say they might possibly be here already, then they just laugh and think your joking.
Although thats because they have never read up on the subject and as its not really reported in the mainstream they dont hear about it enough to understand it better.
