Since we can measure thoughts in laboratories and they are waves or electric in nature, theoretically, is there a way to amplify or magnify these signals???

Yup. If you can measure it then it must leave an impression.

It's basically the same principle as radio waves.

The thing with thought is that the impulses your brain makes forms pictures for you, so theoretically you could record the images you create in your head so we might all be able to record our dreams one day.

Watch the Final Fantasy film 'the spirits within'.. dream recording is done there.

Well sure you can amplify signal like ECG or pulses in your brain but what good does it do? Equally, you can take digital signals off your computer's buss and amplify it to level of kilovolts. Pointless.

With respect, Buddha

It's not pointless. Being able to focus and amplify the thoughts of yourself or others will open up a level of understanding far better than the worlds best psychologists and brain surgeons.

Knowing what the brain is thinking in the sub conscious (particularly in an operation procedure) would give the surgeon unparalleled knowledge of the state and condition of the patient during the procedure.

Psychologists would not have to spend months on end listening to someone inane babble. Instead they plug the patient in and read/record/view the images and/or responses the brain gives upon a question being asked.

Legal systems would have the ultimate lie detector. No more being smashed about and tortured or hooked up to an archaic device that measures your heart rate, perspiration and other bodily functions.

What better way for two people deeply in love to completely share each other than to be able to mingle their minds to see each others thoughts and feelings whenever they please. Would be a great addition to the bed chamber on a cold winters night after a few glasses of your favourite tipple.

Imagine the device being able to communicate with your computer... no more keyboards or mouse. No more typing. Full essays could be written in moments and could be just as fast to read them. Data compression would be way beyond anything we have now. Microchips would not need to be any smaller. The brain is the computer.

On the down side, you have all the usual corrupt uses of such a device, both in the criminal world and the military.

But, if such a device existed, then that may possibly be the end of all criminal activity and wars as everyone would be able to find exactly what's what by setting up brain pattern receivers all over the place. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. No excuses.

That would definitely be far worse than any form of privacy invasion thats possible with our current technology. Flagged.

Yes I've read about the montauk project...i'm trying to see if there something that can be built to produce this effect.

to the buddha poster, this definately has tremendous significance on a vast scale of implications. if you cant think if any implications then perhaps you are in need of such a device to help you in the creativity department

Well supposedly the "chair" that was used came from a downed spacecraft and reversed engineered for use in the project and also using Tesla technology.
