Forget Crop circle how about a sheep circle

www.dailymail.co.uk

There were strange goings on at the farm today when a flock of sheep made their own version of a crop circle.
About 100 of the woolly creatures formed an orderly ring - baffling the farmer and passers-by.

What kind of phenomenon could cause this. I thought sheep were the herding type why would they walk in a circle. The article says that maybe feed was put down in a circle but i think thats bogus.
With all the asteroid talk lately it is sure interesting to see a sheep circle. What do you guys think?

Sheep are stupid! They have a herd mentally, what one does the rest will do.

For example, put a object down so the first few sheep will need to jump over it , then remove the object. The rest of the sheep will jump over the same spot.

It's very possible that the lead ewe started the circle and the herd just kept gong around and around.

Did I tell you sheep are stupid?

indeed it may seem strange, especially if the farmer found it strange, im sure he is used to sheep behavior; I find it quite normal given the "time" we are in.
I think it's a sign that the universe is telling us to think deeper about things, and open our minds to new ways of living.

maybe its a sign that the "sheep" are waking up

Yes an extremely strange phenomenon!!!

My god what is the world coming to?

From the article.

Farm manager at Herefordshire College of Technology, Dan Seaborne, said: "I just think they've been fed with dry feed in that shape - you can get snacker feeders now and you tow behind a quad and it drops pellets on the ground.

"I would imagine that's what's happened."

He added: "I think there was a chap in Yorkshire who spelled out 'will you marry me' to his girlfriend in sheep by putting feed down."

But don't tell Helmet that.

It is true that sheep are stupid, but how does one sheep form a circle exactly?

Edit to add pic...

after closer review of the picture, I can't see a single head sticking up.

In the art world, the farmer would be considered really cutting edge. No one has created crop circles in this medium.

BAGRAMU (spelling?)

Sorry... very interesting, but I agree with previous posts, likely a natural or human cause here.

Interesting. When I saw the picture an old joke popped into my head and since I was just practicing "Remote Viewing" in another thread perhaps this idea has some link to this phenomenon so here goes...If nothing else this might bring a little levity to the dark mood aound this site....

A Ventriloquist is hitch hiking across Wyoming and it is getting near dusk, with no sign of a ride coming. Off in a pasture he sees a shepherd setting up camp and decides to introduce himself. He says to the sheepherder "Howdy, how are you this fine evening. I am a lonesome weary traveller and I was wondering if you would mind if i camped here near you tonight" the shepherd replies "Why hello there partner, glad to make your aquaintence. You are quite welcome to stay here tonight I could use the company. It gets pretty lonely out here sometimes." A couple of hours later with camp made and a fine dinner of pork and beans consumed, the two are sitting around the campfire shooting the breeze. The ventriloquist pulls out his bottle and asks the shepherd if he would like a lil nip. Shepherd says- well I dont usually drink- but what the heck- sure. An hour later both men are feeling pretty warm inside and the ventriloquist decides to have a little fun with the old sheepherder. He says "Hey sheepherder- did you hear that?!?!? your dog just said something" Sheepherder replies"Oh baloney- dogs can't talk" The ventriloquist proceeds to ask the dog "Hey pooch, how are thing for you around here?", and throws his voice to the dog who then "answers"- "Rell ,Retty rood really. Ri rant romplain. Reepherder rere rakes re rork retty rard rall ray- rut re rives re a rood real revery right rand rets re rall rhe rime" The simpleminded sheepherder is astonished. The ventriloquist cuckles to himself and proceed to ask the old mans horse "Hey ol horse- how are things going for you around here?" and of course then throws his very best Mr. Ed voice over to the horse who "replies" -" Weeeellll, I wooooork reeeal haard aaall daay cha -aaaasing theeeeese sheeeps buuuut aaaall iiin aaaall iiiits prrreeeeeetty gooo-oood. I geeeet lah-ots oof haaa-ay aaand eeeeeven sooome ooooats nah-ow aand thee-en" The old sheepherder shakes his head and hands the bottle back and says- "Thats it, I am never drinking again- this is crazy" The ventriloquist is beside himself with laughter and cant resist one more poke at the poor old feller. Hey says "Holy cow- did you hear THAT? That old ewe over there just said something" The old sheepherder jumps up and exclaims "Well she might talk, but you cant believe a word the B#@ch says!!!"

While not the sharpest blade-of-grass in the pasture...historically, our woolly and much maligned brethren have been quite inspirational.

Having said that, I still have to go with the snack-feeder theory on this one

I read the sheep circle article from a different source earlier today and it implied the sheep followed a sheep snack sort of trail that is left with some sort of walking tool. I imagined it similiar to a lawn fertilizer spreader.

But, I'm actually writing to mention that even though this sheep circle was staged; sheep DO go in circles. In Summer camp, the sheep would pass by the cabin at the same time every night ... and later we noticed the herd was always in this spot at this particular time ... and that spot at that particular time of day.

It was interesting because the sheep herd (or whatever you call a group of sheep) have a routine, a path that went in a circle around the camp ... and that the pattern was timed.

It was odd to me, that's all.
