My nose has been broken several times, and on top of that I recently learned that my septum was already deviated (back too far to have been from a
break) because I inherited an amazingly deviated septum from my mother's side of the family.
Insurance has finally approved my surgery, and I am having a septoplasty to correct the deviation, and rhinoplasty to fix the cosmetic aspects of
being a woman who has broken her nose waaaay too many times.
I am excited because I should be able to breathe better, and my nose has been crooked and bumpy for around 15 years. I am kind of scared because even
though I have looked forward to having this surgery forever, I am used to seeing my nose the way it's been.
Has anyone out there had either of these procedures? How was the recovery? Did you like the results? Any advice or thoughts?
It's scheduled for two months from today.
Edit: I am not sure how this ended up in this forum... can someone please move it to a more appropriate one?? Thanks!!
