No word on cause of death yet...

Chess Champion Bobby Fischer Dies

Bobby Fischer, the reclusive chess genius who became a Cold War icon by dethroning the Soviet world champion in 1972 and later renounced his American citizenship, has died. He was 64.

Fisher died in a Reykjavik hospital on Thursday, his spokesman, Gardar Sverrisson, said Friday. There was no immediate word on cause of death

I've heard that Bobby Fischer was hospitalized for "serious physical problems and strong signs of paranoia", and that he eventually died of kidney failure. To me, that sounds like he might have been poisoned...

Court rules Bobby Fischer's body can be exhumed

Iceland's supreme court Thursday ruled in favor of a request by Jinky Young, the alleged daughter of Bobby Fischer, to exhume the chess master's remains, Young's lawyer told CNN.

Wednesday, Iceland’s Supreme Court ordered that the body of Bobby Fischer, the former champion, be disinterred to determine if he is the father of Jinky Young, a 9-year-old Philippines girl, according to a report by Agence France-Presse.
