OS,
If indeed your computer has been infected, changing your IP address will not help you, as you still have the infection on your computer and it does
not care what IP you have.
That said, I DO have some suggestions that will clean and protect your computer.
You did not indicate what operating system you have, so for now I will assume XP (yeah I know about assuming, but I must start somewhere)
You need to download, install, update and run the following programs (all free and LEGAL!!!)
Avg anti-virus, anti-rootkit, anti-spyware:
free.grisoft.com...
adawear 2007:
www.download.com...
ccleaner:
filehippo.com...
Spybot search and distroy:
www.download.com...
Zonealarm Firewall:
www.download.com...
After installing all the above, update each program.
Now, run each program until it stops finding problems then move to the next one.
This should do a nice job of cleaning.
After you are done, don't forget to make sure you have all the latest M$ updates as well as then rebooting-full shut down-not reboot-and then
running the system defragger (start>programs>accessories>system tools>defragger).
If you still have issues, feel free to u2u me with all the details and I will do my best to assist you.
