I heard this on the news the other day and thought... wow, good for them.
An India based automobile manufacturer is introducing a new car, called the Tata Nano, that will only cost approx. $ 2500CDN. Not much in the way of
'extras' and apparently not very environmentally friendly.
Awesome in concept. But it would be a deathtrap on American roads.
For india its great, they are growing, overpopulate, and simply can not afford in anyway to continue on a gas guzzling course.
The more expensive but safer model this company is making however, rocks the house!
I believe they are trying to cash in on the Moped market there by doing one better.
With all the hype they are promoting, it appears you have more social status with the car vs. moped.
The article points out that although it is cheap by our standards, it still carries a long term payment for the average person who makes only $ 2.00 a
day.
