To think they have been working on this since 1971!!

Will be interesting to see the images when they release them. Think of a city that has been underwater for almost 800 years, fascinating stuff.

There is diving evidence of debris from lost chapels and churches but high silt levels in the water means visibility is only a few centimetres.

According to the article, they have found three churches and one chapel, this alone tells of the size of the exploration area.

Once a flourishing city, and the capital of East Anglia 1500 years ago, now just remnants on the sea floor. Mostly due to erosion.

The article has me wondering, how many other towns, villages, etc could be sitting off the coasts of our homes... yet undiscovered.

What he should have said was he had found the remains of 3 churches and a chapel.

The place dissapeared slowly due to coastal erosion and the coast is still dissapearing. It didnt slowly sink vertically into the sea, the sand cliffs just get washed away, same as they do every winter and the buildings just crumble along with it.

Its a great place to find roman stuff too.
