Chromosome 16 CAUSES autism!

Thank you ABC news and especially YOU Charles Gibson (is there ANY doubt Charles has GOT to be America's new 'most trusted' anchorman? (Read: News Reader )) for the stunning expose finally revealing the TRUE cause of autism...

According to the 01/09/2008 ABC evening news story it's Chromosome 16!

Wow! and

I guess ALL of those little autistic kids... Just had IT coming, you little genetic deficiants!

Guess it's time for one of my patented little diatribes!

Is there ANYONE in the medical field that has ANY idea what they are doing?

Is there ANYONE in journalism that is actually a journalist?

Is there ANYONE that can lay their hands on the text of that 'news report'?

I don't think so... It was on the 'evening news'.

A quick search of the ABC web site didn't having this particular segment as making the cut...

Hence my plea for help.

I would like to see more about this myself.

It is important to take the focus off the real causes of these diseases and to blame the individual rather than the assault made of his/her body with the different factors we have discussed in great length many times on ATS.

I will look around and see if I can find anything, too.

Well in this article from the New England Journal of Medicine it states that this genetic defect is only responsible for 1% of affected children.....

Maybe the report you heard conveniently left that part out.

He predicted children newly diagnosed with autism or other developmental disorders now will be tested for this defect on chromosome 16 and that studies of many more DNA samples may reveal other autism-related gene variations. ABC News

Here is the link to the ABC article. It states that the genetic factor is rare and accounts for about 10% of autism cases and as they gather different gene samples, they may be able to identify different autism variations.

I saw part of it goleima. What stood out in my mind was the part that said big pharma has declared autism has actually gone up since taking mercury vaccine stabilizers out. If this is indeed same report. Seems a bit premature to make such a claim in such short order. Sounds like a cyob thing for class action suits coming down the pike.

I think I remember reading that no one really used the mercury free vacintions for long, that they made some up and it didn't get ordered much by the Doc's so they continue to use the original mix.

Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

That would make the above statement useless if they resorted back to the mercury mix.

I have autism and please dont call it a disease. It is not a disease.

We are just different.

The rise of diagnoses has more to do with autism being recongized more often than anything else. It has gotten more and more attention and that just leads to more diagnoses

Keep in mind that chemical burdens are passed from mother to child so if the mother has increased mercury levels (for whatever reason), the chances would be higher for the child to develop autism (assuming that mercury levels are the cause).

Increased mercury levels can be caused by vaccines, contaminated fish, dental fillings, CFL lightbulbs and other sources.

Here's my opinion on autism...remember folks just my personal opinion from personal experience..........I feel there is a genetic (DNA) connection as it seems to indicate within our family. Definitely should NOT be considered a disease although I can understand if your child with autism is severly withdrawn and hypersensitive,etc..... I feel our children are bombarded with the stress involved in having to conform (or act an acceptable way), diet restrictions (picky eater) and flippy sleep and wake patterns sets our children up to become ill and/or weakens their defenses (immune system) to battle illnesses. That is our personal experience and no one can convince me differently. I have watched my sons health decline as he is pushed beyond what HE can handle. My son is high functioning and because of that more is expected of him but he has trouble gauging himself so support is so necessary for all levels of autism....you support them on an individual basis because of the ever-changing needs. Is it easy -NO, but they all are worth the effort!
I also want a study conducted within the infant population.....Before an infant is vaccinated...the Dr. needs to check if the baby has antibodies (naturally) to certain diseases. They may not need all these vaccinations in the first place. Sounds wild but worth looking into. Would that be too expen$ive, I think not when you compare it to the cost of treatments for autism and many parents absolutely can not afford the treatments. Just my thoughts..... I am in the med field and yes people in the med field know what their doing. THis is abhorrent to me and should be banned /removed for trolling. this is my first post in this forum and was excited about the topic only to see a rant posted beneath it. The med field represents the finest people in the human race since doctors are there to care for others and are leap years beyond the common man in intelligence and creative thinking. For anyone to ever question a doctor always makes me ill. Like the thought of socialized medicine. If people want decent care they need to pay for it like driving a nice car they need to afford that care first. I woudl never work free and wont if this country goes socialist I am taking my degree and contributing to the brain drain by moving to a free country where I can charge what I deserve.

Why did you even watch it? Doctors could identify every responsible gene for autism, nailing down the exact cause to specific sequences which could then be altered through gene therapy in the future... and you'd still say vaccines and related pseudoscience were the cause.

Is one of those sleight of hand tricks used by Big Medicine and Big Pharma...

The truth is that the 'thermisol' (mercury based 'preservative') were NOT actually taken out.

They were NOT banned from inclusion in the vaccines.

They were semi-officially quasi-discouraged from being used in the vaccines...

However, as you could probably guess, the vaccine manufacturers were to voluntarily phase the mercury poisons from the vaccines...

And BIG PHARMA elected NOT to.

Further... ANY dip in the figures as to the occurrences of autism is pretty much a total fabrication!



You want to keep in mind that just a few years ago... BIG MEDICINE decided to begin giving NEWBORNS a battery of innoculations AT BIRTH...

Despite the fact that children get a FREE RIDE from the mothers immune system... Read the mother passes on to the child the benefits of her immune system and it's good for 18 months.

I think you got the whole thing EXACTLY right.

I ALREADY knew that the TRUE sampling rate... for the occurance of the 'Autism gene'... The smoking gun CAUSE of Autism was .4% (four tenths of one percent).

Our being sick, at all, is about the cash, absolutely.
Gives everyone a job, and the doctors among us are of a primary class distinction of importance, even moreso now, given the power and responsibility they are being saddled with in the new executive ordering over guns....

Gotta say, what I was really getting at, was the misnomer, in general, of science, from the other thread to this one.... from physics to medicince, from the physical world or our perceptions of it, even and especially scientifically, to our responses to it: i.e., sickness, and thus, medicine.....

Genetics. Now we get to the inbetween justifications in that big picture. What's in us over time, defining time, and eventually us....that's how I interpret the very word, genetics. Gene, tics.....tick, tock....

It's a sideshow. It's a made up deal, for the most part, sculpted for the end result. Even if the genome map described something that had us isolating something and nailing down nature or nuture, it still does not, because the whole was designed for the outcome we are arriving at now, IMHO. You would need a map of every genetic possibility of every living being to isolate anything, which we do not have, and probably should not, anyway.
