Mosquitos Reach Plague Proportions

MOSQUITOES have reached plague proportions in parts of Sydney amid freak breeding conditions and claims by residents the insects are growing stronger and smarter.

Numbers rose 150 per cent along the Parramatta River during 2007 as higher rainfall and unusually large king tides created an ideal environment for hatching larvae.

I've found a good way to kill the buggers is to just use a torch and hold it really close to them so they can't see your hand coming in to crush them. That, or use flyspray, but that would kill all the spiders in my room.
It was reported that flies are in plague proportions here in Vic.

I'm sorry to hear that - and I hadn't heard of Dengi fever either. There's so much that isn't reported in the media these days.

yeah the flies in Victoria get pretty annoying especially when the wind is coming from the north and it blows them all into Melbourne...

Ah, sometimes I'm glad when its -30C outside. No bugs.


Don't you just hate when you have ONE of them in a room at night....

I had a bad season for them last year. Really wet and then a good warm up. UGH.

come on now, insects don't have spas or libraries www networks.

if the present situation, with the aid of strange & feaky tides & rainfall helped create this 'wrath' from an indignant lord-god...

then why isn't the normal absence of high tides and excess rainfall conditions (and proportionate mosquito populations) heralded as 'blessings'

How about that mankind has become very prideful. Very full of themselves. And take granted everything they have? How about that they've forgotten the importance of thanking the Creator for what they have and even don't have; the God so many claim doesn't exist?
