UFO's: Television's Role

After watching the History Channel's recent broadcast of the 'UFO Files-The Early Years', and considering the upcoming February release of the new TV show 'UFO Hunters', it's becoming more and more apparent that there has been a shift by the government in it's approach to UFO handling. While this is nothing new, and has been going on a few years, it's very interesting that these television 'specials' have gone from fringe television, a la' vampires, werewolves, etc., to more considered, objective documentaries. The History Channel broadcast actually allows witnesses other then the norm (like Stan Friedman) to testify to what they know. By expanding the coverage I think we are closer then ever to full disclosure. We need to support these types of programs which take the 'whacko' factor out of the equation. It will be interesting to see how this new 'UFO Hunters' series will be portrayed. Will it be tongue in cheek? Will it be akin to 'Ghost Hunters', which balances strange phenomenon with debunking of some of the more obvious reasons, thus allowing a 'hair raising' experience that lends credibility? Anything that brings the subject into a better light with the general public is good news. Let's all make sure we share information on these types of things with each other, as I know the US is not the only country beginning to open up with their media support.
