Hey everyone,

I searched, but could not come across any previous links to this article

A video of what appears to be an object trailing a dark spiralling plume behind it and plummeting toward Prince Edward Island's Northumberland Strait is the focus of intense speculation.

A P.E.I. couple captured the strange event on video on Dec. 26, but witnesses and experts alike aren't certain what they're observing.

"We were kind of dumbfounded," said Tony Quigley, the P.E.I. farmer who videotaped the apparent unidentified flying object with his wife, Marie Ford-Quigley.

You can view a short clip of the video from within the site if you click on the "related links" and then "Video: See for yourself".

Defintely a strange one if you ask me, my guess its space junk or a meteorite.

I got a few questions about things I can't really make out on this video.

Where does the smoke trail start out?

I cannot tell since the background clouds look higher up in altitude and there is a big contrast in color and they don't seem to fade into each other. It is best to view the very beginning of the video to see what i'm talking about.

So do you think that it starts below, inside, or above the clouds?

With that said, I am leaning towards below since the beginning of the smoke looks like it is already thinning out.

This also reminds me of a tornado starting.

I don't know what to think since the camera is shaky but the quality is decent.

Would a meteor start to burn up the instant it hits our atmosphere or start later on?

Where do you think the smoke trail starts? That is my biggest question.

Thanks for the post. I always like Canadian stories.

I'm not sure what it is.

well the one thing that makes me scratch my head is;

They watched the spectacle for close to 30 minutes and received calls from neighbours who also witnessed it.

what could last in the atmosphere for 30 mins? could someone jump in and tell what the average time for a shuttle or otherwise take to enter the atmosphere?
