at 1:00, MANILA HOTEL responds to popov and states that there are no friendlies in the area. Sounds like bad intel to me.

And the fact they didn't realise the massive orange IFF markers were massive orange IFF markers? Sounds like bad pilots to me.

Just a thought: if I'm opfor and I notice that brits and americans have orange flags on top of everything they are fielding, I'm gonna stick some orange flags on my stuff and hope it spoofs their IFF. Pilots should have done a better job of confirming their targets. With all their NAV and Targeting systems they should have given precise grid coords and request a confirm for the area. Failing that they could do a low altitude pass and look at the uniforms. They train hog pilots to fly low. As one instructor said "If you don't have leaves in your teeth your flying too high"
