Dad+daughter+Vacation= HELP!

im planning on taking my daughter who's 14, to florida this year and im looking for advice on cool places and things to do.

now please don't say "disney" because she's 14 and considers herself WAY to old and grown up to run around beating up giant mice and getting on rides with her dad!! lol :bnghd:

i wanna see the "keys" myself, maybe base ourselves round key west.

is this a cool place for a teenager? any advice on things to do or see?

when's the best time to go? climate... and avoiding hurricans etc....
her mum would kill me if that happens lol
:shk:

also any other ideas on places in the u.s. which you think would be better suited for us to have an "excellent vacation"..??

her only worry seems to be "can we go shopping" lol. she's just like her mum in that sense.

any advice? wish me luck...

I liked Daytona during Bike Week when I was like 11. The beach was awesome! I liked the Supercross.

We went to Disney once when I was little but it sucks. I liked the aquarium Gardens thing. Dolphins are so cool.

We went out on a boat and did some sight seeing and fishing was really fun. We went down to Fort Myers and thought we were in Canada. I liked snorkelling and all the different colourful aquatic life. Dad really liked the Kennedy Space Center tour. It was like boring for me. It's better on TV.

I hope you and your daughter have a great time!

there is so much to do in florida, the everglades, the keys, on and on, disney is a waste of money imo. Kennedy is cool, but I dont know how much your daughter would enjoy it, might be boring for a kid. I have never been to the keys, but I have heard that it is awesome. Unless you like it really hot and humid, I would go from like november to march, we went down in April and it was already hot. But then if you go down when the snowbirds get there you have to deal with a bunch of crazy old people. There are always crazy old people there though, it is after all gods waiting room.

You should be able to find something to do down there that you and your daughter will both enjoy. Have fun, that will certainly be a cherished memory for you guys.

Hey, plenty of adult stuff to do at Epcot Center. I remember many trips from my youth to Disneyland in Anaheim and one to Disneyworld. I'm in my mid-30s and would really like to get back to Disneyworld one of these days. You know, kind of relive those good experiences. The only bad thing is that I heard from my sister who just took her son there and she says a lot of the rides I would remember aren't there anymore. They've been replaced with rides derived from the more recent Disney movies.

Of course I'd probably spend half the time playing golf anyways.

Peace

I don't care if you're 14 or 114 you're never to old for Disney World.

Universal Studios is fun too. Epcot Center is a very cool spot too. A fun learning experience.

Florida also has a really nice sea world. I've only been to Florida once and stayed in Orlando. I had a blast

thank you, all

for your insights, especially about when to go,

i wouldn''t mind a 'bit' of disney myself, like a day or two,but i couldn't take it for two weeks. i have been before (disney) but that was "years" ago.

everglades = alligators.... doesn't it?
maybe i should take her 'alligator wrestling?
she wouldn't forget that....!!! lol

Take Univeral Studios anytime over the Mickey Mouse operation. That's just my 2 cents before taxes.

Also,
Watch out for Red Tide

People have died because of it.

I liked the crystal springs in north Florida.
Ponte Vedra beach in Jacksonville,
and Busch gardens.
