Hi

I have put this topic in skunk works as this is purely theoretical exercise. The exercise is that is the Planet Earth, our, the human races home, is not our first.

I am not the first to postulate this theory as this has been a subject matter that various fringe scientists and science fiction authors have perhaps picked up upon.

I have seen in the John Lear threads and others that theorise that there are structures on the moon.

I have also seen others who believe that there was a civilisation on mars.

The aim of this thread is to examine different view points.

The reason that I started this thread was the idea that this existance on this planet earth; is a do-over from screwing up mars by venting the atmosphere or the heating up of the atmosphere thus turning it into the barren spheroid it is today. Also this maybe a double do-over in relation to the hostile environment on venus as scientists say that venus should be the nearest to earth in size temperature and mass, but is not. Both incident theoretically took about in ancient pre history.

As I have said previously, Any thoughts? Any proof either way?

I am putting forward a fringe hypothesis, one I came up with eight hours ago.

Any thoughts either way would be appreciated as this is a purely theoretical subject

It is possible that in a different life, some of us have lived on mars/venus and etc. However, I would not automatically assume that we are the cause of that; and heres my reason. I believe that there are several different... possibly thousands or millions of life-forms and species out there. I believe they inhabit many undiscovered planets and etc. Therefore, it is my conclusion there's a 50% chance that they were the ones responsible for the wreckage of those planets if not us.

How sad that would be ... if we were the prior occupants of a planet with no visable life form now ... we certainly did not learn our lessons on planet care. Does that mean we'll have to start over again once we destroy this one?

Yes, we will have to start over. Once we perfect cloning, and begin creating new beings in our image and have the technology to travel farther, we will start the process all over again. This is what I believe and have always believed. Perhaps evolution will take place and we will start looking different, say, with grey skin
Too bad we will never know, unless we can perfect cloning and transplanting memory and personality into a new body like the Raëlians believe! Imagine living forever and witnessing all of this.

Earth seems like a pretty good candidate for first home to me. Let's look at three big reasons why:

1) Our respiration system has evolved adapted to Earth's atmosphere, and our bodies are made up primarily of Earth's most common material (water).

2) Most other life forms on Earth are similar genetically to humans, even fruit flies are something 76% identical.

3) Human presence on Earth can be explained fairly well without the need for another planet or place of evolution.

Just my views of course!

adapted to Earth's atmosphere sounds right. Eventually? Seems most things in space are pretty simple when you break it down. I think all beings could break down eventually to something on Earth, or similar enough to fathom.

2) Most other life forms on Earth are similar genetically to humans, even fruit flies are something 76% identical.

We have all adapted, or the strongest, survive. We also may have been put here because we can adapt or can already survive. Or we accidentally came here and we survived because we can.

3) Human presence on Earth can be explained fairly well without the need for another planet or place of evolution.

Fairly well? Which explanation? So "bang" we are here? That's all that happened? Out of nothing we were something?

One thing I wish people could realize, infinity goes both ways. We all seem to understand how space can go on and on forever, also time, in whatever form. Everyone knows this. But time didn't just start, it always has been. People think of a circle as infinity. Well, where does a circle start? it has always been going around just as it always will. What I see people thinking is that time is a spiral, and it started somewhere, but goes on and on forever.

Thanks for the response, some interesting thoughts have been brought up. The cloning issue and the spreading out of humanity throughout the galaxy is interesting.

If we were to turn this idea on its head, could it not be possible that we were originally cloned and placed here by our progenitors either as a part of humanities expansion into the universe of because of a doomsday "noahs ark" scenario?

When I mean "noahs ark" I am not refering directly to the biblical story by using the theme of escaping catastrophe as a simile.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

This is what I believe. Their star may have been dying and it was time to leave.
