Interesting article. Seems that they uncovered ruins of a temple in Mexico City that could push back the founding of the Aztec capital of Tlatelolco, the site on which Mexico City stands on today, from 1525 to about a century earlier or maybe even back to 1200 or 1100 ce.

I'm not so sure the Aztec timeline need to be revised as much as it simply need to be filled in. I mean we dont really know when and where they came from, its all theories. AFAIK the Aztec tradition is that they left Aztlan at around the 900th century, which leaves quite a gap to the foundation of Tenochtitlan.

zephyrs, Tlatelolco wasnt the Aztec capital, Tenochtitlan was. I believe Tlatelolco was a smaller city later absorbed by it.
