CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - Egypt criticized Israeli plans to build new homes in disputed east Jerusalem, as key officials from the two nations met Wednesday amid a diplomatic flap over weapons smuggling into Gaza.
President Hosni Mubarak told Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak that Israel's new plan to expand an existing east Jerusalem neighborhood would damage the Israeli-Palestinian peace process launched at a U.S.-led conference last month.
