So what’s new with Pakistan? They’ve plummeted to greater depths of double dealing which they are known for. This time they’re taking America for a ride who were none the wiser for it – until recently!

After ‘gifting’ Pakistan more than $5 billion for the largely failed effort to bolster the Pakistan military effort against the Al-Qaeda and the Taliban in the so called ‘war against terror’, American officials now acknowledge that the money was diverted to finance weapon systems designed to counter India!

And to add to this, the US of A had paid millions of dollars in Pakistan’s inflated reimbursement claims for fuel, ammunition and other costs. According to reports in the media, senior Pakistani Army officers have siphoned off these millions and filled their pockets, buying up real estate and investing large amounts in Swiss banks!

The American largess is also being used to buy sophisticated Ukranian tanks and artillery, weapons that are used only in a conventional scenario and not against militants holed up in the rugged terrain in the North West bordering Afghanistan.

It's been known for quite some time but it's not been in the public domain. But within the administration for several months there have been questions, amongst the budgeting officers in the Pentagon and the state department on why they are pouring this money down the drain in Pakistan when there is no result.

Who cares? American tax dollars to make the Pakistani Army generals millionaires! And buy sophisticated boy's toys to augment their military balance against India!

So now do you know where your hard earned money is going?

Cheers! Have a nice day!

And even worse... Pakistan isn't the only country that we blindly give billions of dollars to each year. Countries like Israel, Egypt, etc. There needs to be some accountability here and there also needs to be a big return on our investment ie: captured terrorists, stemming the flow of weapons to battle zones, etc.

Sadly, it seems like these billions we give away end up doing little-to-no good for us.

And what exactly can $5Bn buy you in Pakistan? A corrupt dictator-general? National stability to suit further US foreign political ambition? 'Clean' money flowing back from Musharraraf and his generals into the military-industrial order-books and balance-sheets?

This is the problem with the U.S trying to give financial aid for anything. People say, "Well, America should financially help nations build better, schools, infrastructure, economy, fight terrorism, et cetera." Yet, what makes anyone think that the money would be used to do such things?

What good for us does it do for us? Ah, earns us more ire and hatred. Makes the rest of the world citizenry laugh at the "ignorance" of Americans... Like I say, Isolationism is America's answer, reply, or however you want to phrase it. Then we'll see what's what.

before and after 911 pakistan has been aiding and funding terrorists, the ISI is the outlet to the terror groups in western pakistan and afghanistan. the US provides support to pakistan, they funnel the money through the ISI to our enemies, so in essence we are funding a war against ourselves. gotta love our foreign policy...

and the only leader who would really stop terrorism aid is assassinated.. eerily convienient...

Oh, so now the assassination of Bhutto is America's fault too?
I was wondering when such a ridiculous assertion, albeit subtley, would be made. Well, there you have it.

Where the money is going? it goes to bribe hostile governments into submission to the interest of the US.

Meanwhile our national debt keeps rising and our nation economy keeps plunging into depression.

uhhh, hold on there cowboy, i was refering to the corrupt folks inside the ISI and pakistani government who aid terror stopping Bhutto who would put them out of business if elected, good try though

i wasnt saying it was the US's fault i was saying that corrupt elements inside pakistan benefit greatly from the opposition out of the way. convenient to have her out of the way so things can remain on track, if you recall the ISI was involved in removing Bhutto from power in the 90's.
And osama has connections with he previous opposition. its in their interest to keep her out of the way, they thought she was out of the way while in exile but as soon as she comes back, the games begin.. again

in reference to the money the US provides, we are being duped into thinking that our money goes for the war on terror when it really gets subverted into terrorist sympathizers hands through rogue elements in the ISI who are nearly untouchable, and even Bhutto said she had little control or oversight over their activities during her rule.

Spot on turbo!
The Taliban is the brain child of the ISI. They were raised to fight a proxy war in Afghanistan on their behalf, to get complete control of the country.

The aim was to have 'strategic depth' vis a vis India, where their assets could be relocated in the event of a war (Including nuclear) out of the area of influence of the Indian war machine. These forces could then be used as a riposte at a suitable time to get out of an adverse situation and regain strategic balance.

Pakistan's military doctrine was based on this. And still is. They therefore continue and will continue aiding and abetting the Taliban, financially and militarily. After all, how is the Taliban managing to hold its own against NATO forces? They need massive amounts of arms and ammunition to continue this low intensity conflict. No prizes for guessing where they're getting it from, without which they would have died a quick death.

So the billions for the so called war against terrorism being doled out by America to Pakistan, is being used in big measure to fund the Taliban. This is over and above the billions that are flowing in through the drug trade in Afghanistan.

And needless to say, the US looks the other way, as they need the drugs to fund their black projects, which is beyond congressional scrutiny. But that's another story! Wheels within wheels! This whole thing stinks!

Cheers!
