I keep having these problems and I wonder when you all are going to start charging me.. LOL

On with the newest problem...

Bought a new video card today and it would not install...(Radeon HD 2400 Pro) (Not the problem) I went back to my old one, an NVideo GEForce 6500, 256mb onboard memory, everything went back ok except one thing..

Now under device manager, it says I have a conflict with "PCI Input Device"

When I go to properties, it tells me that no drivers are installed and I can't find them online anywhere.. (I do not have the original install disk)

My system is..

Dell Dimension 4700, Intll Pentium 4 HT at 3.4ghz
1.5 gigs Ram
Windows Vista Ultimate

I have the GeForce working fine now and really can't find a problem to go with the indicated conflict, but I assume one is there somewhere...

Anyone got any ideas?

I went to Dell and they are little or no help.. I guess because the system was designed for XP and I put Vista on it, they just want to sell me a new PC...

Thanks in advance..

I'm not sure about Vista because I'm using XP. However, you can download the drivers for your Geforce 6 series video card here:

www.nvidia.com...

Choose Geforce 6 series and choose the Vista version you bought, then download and install.

Before installing the driver, you have to make sure that you remove the old driver to avoid conflicts. I'm not sure how you would remove it in Vista, but you can try uninstalling the video drivers from the control panel > system > hardware > device manager. Choose display drivers and uninstall whatever driver is installed there. Or, you can try removing it from control panel add/remove programs. Find the display driver software and uninstall it.

Hope this helps.

This is sadly a common occurance with Nvidia video cards.

Here is the steps to resolve your issues:

1)Download the latest vista-Ati video driver:
game.amd.com.../common-vista32

2)redownload direct x for vista-when you uninstall vid drivers, you almost always end up uninstalling direct x 9C:
www.microsoft.com...

3)direct x 10-I personally recomend you do NOT!!!!!use direct x 10-it uses MUCH more processing power:

4)Go to Device manager-with your Nvidia card in- and right-click the vidcard.

5)Pick the 3rd option down-or so- which is "uninstall"

6)you will get a warning about disabling the card-choose "yes"

7)Now, do a complete shutdown of the computer-"NOT A RESTART"

8)now take out your Nvidia vid card and install your ATI vid card.

9)start the computer and when promted for driver for new equipment-click close-really!

10)Now, double-click your Ati driver and install it-yes you will need to reboot when it is done.

11)Now, instsll direct x.....yes you will need to reboot again............

12)now you should be able to set your resolution and other features.

I hope this helps, if you still have further issues, feel free to u2u me with all the exact details ofd what you did and what the results were.
