Secret societies, experiences and general info

Firstly, I'm really interested in secret societies and there seems to be alot of people on this site who are very knowledgable on the subject. it would be much appreciated if anyone could provide me with their experiences of secret societies, especially those which an be considered more 'exotic' than masons. Secondly i'm wondering how secret societies actually come to 'recruit' others. Thanks

Recruitment? Word of mouth, observation...

Innitiates don't enter the group, the group finds them.

Suppose you could always petition someone or some temple... but then, you'd have to know who they are... and that would defeat the entire 'secret' thing.

I really tried to read all those posts to make sense of it. Really I did. But I give up. I feel like I too should begin quoting random bible verses and then quoting random songs.
