GMO Seeds: 'MNCs Gaining Total Control Over Farming'

www.informationliberation.com

Food security campaigners are now more concerned than ever that farmers are turning dependent on large multinational corporations (MNCs) for seeds, fertilisers, pesticides and other inputs while also becoming more vulnerable to pressures to produce genetically engineered crops.

Gathered here over the weekend, for the Pesticide Action Network (PAN)'s 25th anniversary, many expressed concern over the predatory nature of corporate agriculture and its attempts to corner the entire chain of food production from seeds to sales of food products.

The Multi National Corporations (MNCs) now control our energy needs, and we can see how well that monopoloy has played out...for them.

Now imagine how it will be for us if they also control our food supply, from the seed to the breakfast table.

It's happening now.

I'm not in the least bit surprised. Control of food supply (a.k.a chemical energy) has always been what those who seek power been after. The wars in the past were fought over fertile land. In the modern age it was for control of petroleum -- another form of energy.

I leave you this quote from a very good game I used to play a lot:
Life is merely an orderly decay of energy states, and survival requires the continual discovery of new energy to pump into the system. He who controls the sources of energy controls the means of survival.

Unfortunately, neither am I surprised.

There's no doubt that a self-selected elite are seeking to control *everything* to their own greedy benefit.

What could be more abjectly evil?

People are starving now, not because of a shortage of food or resources, but due to political maneuvering by corrupt despots and the venal few.

And it's certainly no coincidence that the very same entities that will control the means to produce food, will also be in control of the seeds stored in the "Doomsday" seed vault.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

And once they control the food, they'll move on to the water and eventually, the very air we breathe.

Buy local, or grow your own, if you can.

Thanks for your post, my friend.

Another very good reason that we simply must get into space. Humans must move on to other worlds, beyond the easy grasp of the local warlords who seek to control every last thing on Earth. To play "monopoly" with humanity, where we the common folk are just the pieces to be moved on the board.

As long as this is the only game in town, 99% of us will be the losers.

According to some, "we" are already in space.

And this, "our" world, is the brackish backwater full of inbred hicks that don't really matter, in the grand scheme of things...

They left us eons ago, to our own devices, and this is the best we can do on our own.

Sad way of looking at things, I suppose.

I don't want to believe it, but....well, look around at man's arrogant inhumanity to man.

Will we, as a species, ever rise above this need to subjugate and use each other, let alone those lifeforms we deem to be "worthy" of our exploitation?

Until we can, I don't think we deserve to spread beyond this cradle, or prison, depending on one's view of things.

Thanks for your post as well, my friend.
