Ok now, just to let you know, I'm a skeptic when it comes to rationalizing Alien craft and ET activity in conjuntion with our solar system. I base reasoning and logic behind most of my beliefs. Thats kinda why I laugh at 99.8% of the things posted on these forums.

This is the only time something has hazed my view and left some uncertainty in my mind. The following image has been posted in other threads but I think out of all the images of UFOs, bizzare objects and other unexplainable phenomenon this is the only image that actually has made me stop and take a double check. I've decided to dedicate a thread to it.

Here it is:

Mars Global Surveryor Image (NASA)

From the top angle to the bottom angle, I believe it is approximately 4-5km.

I know places like Giant's Causeway have produced some type of geological symetry, but I think this photo of the surface of Mars warrants further investigation as it appears to be sustantially different in terms of the Giant's Causeway geological process.

What do you think about this image? Is this formation made from a natural process?

Hi

There's an ongoing thread, opened by CreeWolf, in Space Exploration:
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Anyway, i find this formation really interesting, if you ask me: most likely, just a Rover would be able to let us know more about it ...

IMO the whole key to the interpretation of this image is TWO seperate "anomalies": the top arrow and the bottom arrow. Together, they appear to for a rectangle.

But take one out of the picture and suddenly it changes.

For the top corner, its no longer a box at all: its just a chevron which looks like a hill.

For the bottom corner, you see rocks among the sand. Interestingly, this is ANOTHER "rectangle" on its own!!! See that right hand side of the rocks? That can be interpreted as a corner, and suddenly the new "rectangle" takes shape, albeit with one of the corners rounded.

Do I think its anything spectacular? No... Not really. In the end, it just look like sand and rock. Whatever geometric shape there is simply isnt enough.

Why's it that we have to see the images in black and white?

I don't get it.

Sorry about re-posting about this image - but to be honest, I think it deserves more attention than some of the more ambiguous threads in this forum.

Dark red circles: Four distinct corners that appear to be equilateral

Light red lines: Possible walls of contruct

Light yellow circle: natural formation

The chaotic structure in the yellow circle appears natural. Could this possibly be eroded from a solid base of the construct?

If this formation was for instance, 400 million years old or more, what are the chances of part of the construct appearing natural?

You see but thats just the point , "What if we took one of the annomalies out?" , of course then it would not look like a rectangle , but thats just the point , they are together and should be considered and researched together .. Why ? Well because "If you put a big tower inside of it ..." see the error in your type of thinking ?

Dont try so hard to make the facts match "your" theory

No I dont. There is nothing we have indicating an average size of Martian constructions.

In comparison, if you look at the Earth real hard it look like a geometrical sphere. Well, at least until you get closer. Then we see mountains, oceans and deserts. And even closer, we see boxes: our buildings.

For all I know, the bottom portion of the screen could be the walls of a 10,000+ people city while the top angle is just a mountain. Or we could be looking at a really big home for a really big alien and his grandma (the bottom part is the toilet).

I dont make the facts match my theory. I merely present fact.

Umm merka, what you are saying does not make complete sense?

The second image I posted shows what appear to be four parallel 'corners' with apparent wall structures of the same degree of longitude/latitude

It could look like anything without some of these components, but they are clearly indicated. How about explaining your facts more clearly?

Whether it's an alien toilet or not, who knows. What we need to determain is: Is this a natural formation?

We cant. Well, unless you got a spaceship waiting in your backyard so we can take a day trip to Mars (you have to swing by Sweden to pick me up first though).

Is it possible that this is a natural formation that on pure coincidence look unnatural with sharp edges? Yes. Its not a unique feature, we see it all the time both on Earth and Mars. Sharp edges exist in nature, plain and simple. As do geometrical shapes.

Is it possible that this is the remnants of an "alien" construction. I suppose it is. But it requires the establishment of martian civilization in the first place, which hasnt been proven. And further, it requires evidence that said martians built their buildings in a square layout among other things: Even if there IS a civilization and it was CONFIRMED, this picture doesnt automatically show remnants of that civilization!

Which of these are the most plausible?

Btw the left corner is stretching imagination a little to far IMO. There's a little sandy area there and I dont quite see it matching up the south most corner (taking account its angle). Just drawing lines between them wont do: it'd have to be a perfect box shape.
