So I got home early from school yesterday due to a snow "storm", if you could call it that. I get home, turn on the TV, it was on a news station, and as it was turning on, in the first few milliseconds my eyes spot in a big red banner "BREAKING NEWS!" my heart is racing at this point, I think "HOLY CRAP MAYBE TERRORISTS 9/11 WAR NUCLEAR BOMBS ALIENS FREEMASONS OMG SOMETHING INTERESTING!" but no I see "Baseball Steroids Abuse".

Never mind the fact that ANYTHING to do with sports (A LEISURELY ACTIVITY MIGHT I REMIND YOU) should not be considered breaking news on ANY news station other than perhaps one entirely devoted to sports (in my personal opinion no basic news station should even have a sports segment).

But, is this even news?! Apparently baseball players using steroids is a new discovery?! I THOUGHT THIS WAS COMMON KNOWLEDGE!

UGH MY HEART WAS RACING FOR SOMETHING THAT TURNED OUT TO BE UTTERLY USELESS INFO!

MY APATHY FOR SUCH AN ISSUE COULD NOT BE GREATER.

Just out of curiosity, the channel wasn't espn was it?

That was a big blow to the baseball world, too.
It is common knowledge that some folks use roids, but this is the first time that any major names have come out to. Just saying.

Are you telling me that someone playing a game used an illegal substance ???
I'm shocked, shocked I tell ya.

If this is allowed to continue the bodybuilders and weightlifters might catch on and start using these "performance enhancing" drugs and then we won't know what is real anymore.

Definitely a "BREAKING NEWS" story.

Main stream media has degenerated into Orwell's Prolefeed

"Here were produced rubbishy newspapers containing almost nothing except sport, crime and astrology, sensational five-cent novelettes, films oozing with sex, and sentimental songs which were composed entirely by mechanical means on a special kind of kaleidoscope known as a versificator."

Turn that crap off. Light's out, guerrilla radio.

I for one was kind of relived when it was just a story about steroid use. AT least there were no terrorist attacks where people could have died. But you're right, I was hoping for some thing a little bit more my self, like "UFO crash reported in such and such area", but I don't think some thing like that would be reported.

I would only hope that you feel the disgust when we're forced to endure weeks of Spears/Lohan/Hilton etc., and their daily updates on rehab. As a sports fan, I'm a little biased here.. but I felt a little relief knowing that I didn't have to hear about how Lindsay Lohan is trying to quit smoking, and Britney Spears is on the market for a "party house".

Agh!

Well obviously that's the question on everyone's minds. But she's famous because she is a real-life freakshow and people love to hate her, just like Britney Spears. I mean, the talent either of them has can be outstripped by a lot of the kids at my highschool (or even junior high), but hey, they're entertaining and the media makes great money off of them.

THIS JUST IN! BREAKING NEWS!

Today, there will be weather. Forecasters predict that this weather will lead to...

weathery conditions!!!

We interviewed a scientist to discuss his theories on this phenomenon.

Scientist: Thanks for having me, reporter.
Reporter: No problem. So what's your take on this whole "weather" thing?
Scientist: Well reporter, it's like this. Sometimes, there's certain kinds of weather. Other times, there are other kinds of weather. My research leads me to believe that this could only lead to one thing: Weather. Tomorrow. Lots and lots... of... weather.
Reporter: Fascinating. And how does this relate to findings indicating steroid use in baseball?
Scientist: I'm glad you asked this question because it's not a link that many people will make on their own. But you see, sports - baseball especially - are often played outside... in... weather!!

Yeah, they carry their "breaking news" too far a lot. "Breaking News" should be reserved for just that. Something extremely important and could effect a number of people.

Not someone just slept with someone or this someone just filed for divorce or this player was caught using steroids.

The news needs to grow up again. Take on the way they were well over 30 years ago. Professional and Facts only. News that cover the world and our country not stupid stuff. Stupid stuff like drinking coffee in front of the viewers, sharing with the audience what you did last night, telling personal jokes, etc… Cause I don’t think we really care.

You know the roids abuse case has gotten so much attention lately that it makes me think that perhaps it should be mandatory for our athletes to take and use steroids. I think it would be a hoot to watch people with the ability to throw a 400 MPH fastball or hit a ball with enough force to send it into low orbit.

How about golf? Cmon Tiger Woods on steroids? No problem with that one shot to the green par 5 try.

Course the roid rage might be fun to watch during a hokey game.

Announcer 1: Wow Phil I have never seen the entire ice turn red with blood before.

Announcer 2: who'd a thunk it bob? The Zamboni is going to have a tough one clearing that mess up.

Breaking news? Nope, just a
MSM finally caught on to this?

I've changed my mind about the Rugby.

I think we should stick to baseball with steroids. Keep the steroids in baseball.

We change one other rule about baseball, too...

Everyone gets to hold a bat. :-)
