6 shot after exiting Vegas school bus

news.yahoo.com

LAS VEGAS - Six junior high or high school students were shot Tuesday after they got off a school bus, and two were critically hurt, police said.

At least two people are believed to have taken part in the shootings, he said. Police were not saying whether the shooting suspects were on foot or in a vehicle.

There isn't much in the article. Any one in Las Vegas with more info?

It's hard to understand what is going on with people. Revenge is getting out of hand. Of course that might not be the case here.
I'm betting it is another young person who is upset over something.

AP news

This is not good at all, Sadly when a shooting happens ....there almost always is a wave of them over the weeks following,

The shooting occurred less than a mile from two elementary schools, Woolley and Clyde Cox Elementary Schools. A Clark County School District official said the schools were not closed.

This is bad......its really an unfortunate turn of event, both for those locals and nation wide.

Nation wide, i am saying that this sort of random shooting is becoming more nationally recognized and has come over much public scrutiny. Are these the dying days of the 2nd Amendment? Will we ever get to those who need the help most before they take matters into their own hands? Is it going to stop?

Seems like the only thing we have to avoid these things are faith, and that faith will help lead others to do the right thing, and thats not to cause anymore violence.

Sad, to those who are forever damaged, i give my condolences.

Yes, it does seem like there are people poised on the edge and are set off by one of these events.

Since these shooters left it does not quite fit in with the shootings where the person kills their self and puts an end to their troubles in life. May be this has some other purpose such as creating more fear in the population.

Childhood seems to coming to a screeching halt in today's world.

I was watching this on the news. At the time they were told that police thought it was gang related.

How sad. I remember the scarriest part of going to school was having to stand up in front of my class and give a speach or oral book report.

*sigh*

This information was on the MSNBC website.

Police said they believed the shooting was linked to a fight at Mojave earlier in the day Tuesday. The brawl had been contained by school police, who arrested three male students, all about 16, officials said.

Sheriff Doug Gillespie did not describe how he believed the incidents were connected. The fight at the school did not appear to be gang or race-related, he said.

“At this point, the indicators that we have found ... it’s a dispute over a girlfriend,” Gillespie told reporters.

It's hard to believe these types of disputes are being settled with guns. I suppose it's the example that some of the older generation have set.

When I was young guns were on TV (westerns, war movies) but I and the people I grew up with never used them to settle disputes. Something has changed or I just missed changing somehow. They were never an offensive weapon.
