lake ronkonkama ghost

It was the summer of 1980 and i was living on Long Island, New York in a town called ronkonkama. i was on a beach on Lake Ronkonkama late in the evening, and i saw something i could not explain........................................i was walking down the beach and saw something out in the water about 30 yards out. i stopped walking to see better and it was something sticking up out of the water about three or four feet..... what i saw was one of those old diving suites....you know the ones that had the round helmet with the round glass to see out of............i stood there for about two minutes looking at this diving suite sticking up out of the water, and then it seemed like it was slowly rising out of the water. thats when i got scared and started to run....i wasnt gonna stick around to see what it was gonna do....lol. i will never forget that night thats for sure................i did some research on lake ronkonkama , but couldnt find anything about any old diving accidents. ............i did hear of a curse that was on the lake and its supposed to take a life once a year. when i looked it up i found there was a curse from an old indian love story....i just wanted to share this and see if anybody knows anything that can shed some light on this. sorry about no paragraphs....cant figure out how to do it...lol

The curse story is not true, as far as I know there have not been any drownings recently. I believe swimming is not advised due to chemical waste in the water, swimming in the lake might even be illegal but I do know that at the least people are advised not to swim there.
