"Development of the engines and weapon subsystems for the fourth-generation fighter has been underway for some time, according to the source, who revealed that a number of design concepts have already been created. Wind-tunnel tests of these are about to start. Images of the concepts show a twin-engine aircraft sharing some design traits with Lockheed Martin's stealthy F/A-22 multirole fighter, now undergoing tests with the US Air Force, such as the internal carriage of its weapon systems. The Chinese designs retain a more conventional wing, however, and use a single vertical tail fin."

Bha.......Chicom propaganda !

USA are deploying their F-22 Raptor, and the Chicom are just testing some designs in an airtunnel.

Even the Russians don't have the money for their own stealth aircraft ( Mig 35 ). This so-called Chicom stealth fighter story is a psychological warfare tool.

the J-10 is a euro-fighter copy that they have been having trouble getting off the ground (hence the J-11 acquisition)

The J-10 [the export version being designated F-10] is a multi-role single-engine and single-seat tactical fighter, with its combat radius of 1,000 km. It is designed for point defensive warfare with performance generatlly matching aircraft such as the Mirage 2000 deployed by Taiwan. Apparently, Chinese engineers are trying to develop the J-10 from a single F-16 provided by Pakistan, and with assistance from Israeli engineers associated with Israels US-financed Lavi fighter program, which was cancelled in 1987. FAS J-10

Give them 20 years and maybe they might be nearer to us. The Chinese have almost no indiginous technology, everything they have is either bought, borrowed or mostly stolen.

Sorry,but you wrong.

This so-called Chicom eurofighter/J-10 is a hoax. This hoax is comming from this pic ( a fake pic of course )

On these 2 others pics, we can see that the J-10 is close from the F-16/Lavy or the Sewdish Saab JA-39 Grippen.

Hi everyone,

I'm really scpetic about dis chinese J-10.
'cause, on first picture shown by ultra_phoenix of J-10,
You can see trees : two details :
1) A jet cannot be in this position at 'dis altitude
2) On the picture, you can see clearly trees, but on a photo taken at 'dis speed you can' see trees as clearly.
It' a bad hoax, left to know WHO could take advantage of such a hoax...

Yes ND. That's why I wrote " This hoax is comming from this pic ( a fake pic of course ) ".

The J-10 is looking more to an F-16 and he don't look at all to a Typhoon.

" Ce canulard provient de cette image ( qui est fausse bien sr ).

Le J-10 ressemble + a un F-16 et il ne ressemble pas du tout a un Typhoon.

China's Jian-12 or J-12 (F-12 for foreign markets) is 5th generation multirole jet due to fly by 2012 and enter service by 2015. It has been codenamed XXJ by US's Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI). J-12 is destined to be China's top-end fighter along with the Su-30MKK when it will be introduced

They don't even have a lot of J-10's if they do exist there may be like 2 so they have a long way to with that so the J-10 is still a couple of years off service and they are already begging their J-12 when they don't even have any J-10 BS.

The bottom line is like us they have alot of "development" projects. SOme pan out some don't. I agree with Westpoint. Im sckeptical that they are going to have a 5th gen stealthy indigenous fighter ready by 2015. They may have several full squadrons of j-10's by then. But given normal developmental cycles, The stealthy Chicom 5th gen maigh be due at best in squadron strength by 2025 maybe. By then we will in all likelyhood have stealth UCAV's roaming around
