Toxic Metal Found at Govt Uranium Plant

Ummm...I don't know about you, but I would expect "toxic metal" to be at a uranium plant. I don't mean to make light of the situation, but I would think that should be expected, perhaps the employees should have been given more protection from the time they enter the facility.

"The toxic metal beryllium has been detected in everyday production equipment at one of two government uranium plants, and it could be sickening plant workers, Energy Department officials said." Thursday.

Metal beryllium and uranium together, are they not used in the development of bomb technology? I am sure I read about those two elements together in the development of some weaponry or experiments along with fluoride.
