George Bush: a liberal in disguse

Letting illegal immigrants into the country adding support for socialists. Making Republican party look bad with many scandals. Making economy bad so progressive reforms will take place when he leaves office. Bringing down Tony Blair so solicialist reform will take place in the U.K. and the U.S.

How are illegal immigrants going to support socailism when they cant vote?

Making Republican party look bad with many scandals.

The republican part makes themselves look bad without the help of Bush. For that matter, so do the democrats.

Making economy bad so progressive reforms will take place when he leaves office.

Im going to hit this from two angles.
1) To the bolded: The tone of your post suggests that socialism is bad. If that is what you believe, suggesting that socialism will result in progressive reforms is not the wording you want, the term would be "regressive" reforms.
2) A poor economy can be spun in either direction (socialist or corpratist/capitalist) Look to south american client-state countries, whos social economies are terrible, but thier business interests rake in record profits every quarter. The same will happen to the US, and it wont be because of socialism, it will be because of Corpratism.

Bringing down Tony Blair so solicialist reform will take place in the U.K. and the U.S.

Tony stepped down because of policy issues and faltering publiv support for his party and his leadership. I fail to see how the loss of Tony will result in socialism for the USA.

Finally, you seem to lack any clear definition of what socialism is. Socialism is an economic system of equal distribution (in essence). Historically, the government thats forms a socialist economy/state has been (here's the shocker) democratic. That is, the people of said country wanted socialist change. SOCIALISM DOES NOT EQUAL TOTALITARIANISM

Well, Bush was never a conservative. I knew that when he started in on the whole "compassionate conservative" spiel...

When you look at where he stands on the whole illegal immigration issue and the fact that the government has grown exponentially since he has been in office, only a fool would call him anything but a liberal..

What about his regressive tax policies? Gigantic military spendings, cuts to social services, etc etc etc.

His no liberal, hes no conservative. Hes a corpratist. His administrations policies, as many of the previous administrations, have done little to help US citizens and much to help corporate profitteers.

What the US public and the citizens of the world need to do is stop getting caught up on this left vs. right BS and start organizing against the real threats of exploitation at the hands of the Corporate Elite.

Inspiteof, I do agree that this country has become overly polarized..

Everything is always lumped into one of two political categories...

If it is too stringent or "harsh," people say "Well, you ultra conservative ,nazi, bastard." If it is too touchy-feely, "soft," people say, "Well, you ultra liberal, socialist, bastard."

Sometime I think we have traveled down a road of no return in regards to that

Its never too late, we just need to take back the airwaves and print. I think the biggest issue is the polarization is emphasized in every walk of life, from every media outlet, in/on every venue.

At this point, I could care less if my government is conservative or liberal, what I do care about is what the government is doing to better the lives of its people rather than better its own life.

Canada had become just as polarized (IMO) as the US. And we are all guilty of the black and white thinking from time to time, but it does us no good if we sit there and complain about whos red and whos blue while there are real issues that need addressing.
