Why Are The Greys A Recent Phenomenon?

It seems that the Grey alien abductions are more recent. Barney and Betty Hill seem to be the first place where the Greys are brought up. I was watching the History channel tonight and saw that even in the late 1800's some people claimed to have seen Champ, the lake Champlain monster. I've heard alot of people say that people didn't talk about it before because they thought they would be seen as crazy. But there's people talking about a monster in a lake back then. Just curious as to why this is the case that aliens are then not discussed. I do believe in UFOs and that aliens have visited this Earth. But why all the hype about the Greys? I'm skeptical as to rather these particular beings exist.

Thanks for posting... well, to carry out an agenda, there must be a starting point for "contact" if contact is required. For the "greys," this seems to have started around 50 or so years ago. The first "modern" abduction cases reported publicly originate around 1957, in South America. The Hills case made headlines in the US for seeming to be the "first of it's kind." However, their experience was similar to reports already being made outside of the US. Again, it is important to remember the possibility that many abductions were taking place in the US prior to the Hill's experience, because we are dependent on people to come forward with such information. For a number of reasons, including profile and security, this may not have happened in this country until the Hill case. Perhaps because they were taken together it reinforced their realization that something odd had happened.

In the 1950s, a growing number of citizens in the US claimed to be visited by "space brothers" who looked like us. They took ordinary individuals onboard their craft and gave them a tour of earth and the heavens. But there is one problem... when asked what the beings were wearing, the answer tended to reflect a style of dress that was at best several years ahead of the current fashion at that time.

The "space brother" accounts began to be overwhelmed with accounts of a more sinister nature, with humanoid beings that seemed largely emotionless and performed intrusive medical experiments on their abductees. People were no longer being "visited" but "taken."

I began to wonder, after studying and pondering all this, if our government, our "military industrial complex," wasn't "practicing" on the civilian population to test their reactions to "alien visits" and direct encounters with UFOs. Considering what the Germans were experimenting with around 1940, and the amount of data/personnel we gathered from them after the second world war, I can't help but suspect that these "space brother" visits were test runs for a deeper agenda.

The abduction phenomena is fascinating in itself. Most individuals recall seeing only aliens during their abductions. Some recount seeing aliens and human personnel working side by side. A very small number report seeing an entirely human presence. This would reaffirm, to some degree, the following: some abductions are staged and entirely of human origin, others reflect the human/alien co-op program described by many former insiders/investigators, and most suggest a seemingly independent alien program void of human aid or partnership. I believe all three are a reality. Regarding the human hand in all of this, I believe the US civilian public has been a test subject as far back as the 50s if not earlier.

I don't know what the history of the greys really is. From everything I've come across, I do believe they are very manipulated, and probably under some kind of "collective" mind control from another entity. There is little trust from either side, human or grey, and with the beings giving conflicting information to some of their "contactees," it leads some to dismiss the topic altogether as pure hoax/delusion.

There is a much darker background to some of these "aliens." The more you investigate and engage in conversation with insiders, you will get hints of this. But the worst of the worst they will not talk about over the phone or in person. It's beyond frightening. I'm not adding any light to this... to each his own journey in this mess, and good luck.

The Abduction Phenomena goes back much further than the 1950s.

Stories of humans being abducted by non human entities goes back thousands of years. Look at Faerie and Witch lore of Europe. Look at the Nymphs of Rome and Greece. Even the gods of pagan europe did it. Hades, Zeus, and how about the Wild Hunt? Stories of Vampires, Succubi/Incubi, and Lilith are more examples. Lastly how about the Bible with Elijah and Enoch?

This is just examples from Western Civilization. There's more from India, China, Africa, the Americas, and Australia.

Very true, but would the old stories/legends you made mention of seem to describe the beings in question here? We were focusing more on recent cases involving "greys," but if there is evidence of earlier "abductions" prior to the 1950s involving these beings, we would like to know!

My guess as to why the greys are a recent phenomenon is due to the fact that they were popularised with Whitley Streiber's book "Communion" in the 80's (even if the fella on that book's cover is more brown or tan than grey). Or maybe this book just re-vitalised the look of them?

I know I didn't see my first greys until after seeing the likeness on the book (which of course makes me question my own experiences).

They are not recent,
but it's the people now waking up.

For instance, two years ago you would have laughed about it and now you realize the incredible amounts of evidence.

Also this year, people seem to be way more UFO accepting.

I remeber a program a bit ago that showed that interest in aliens were beginning to peek around Betty and barney's abduction. With their descriptions providing the idea, it seems like sleep paralysis, would help explain why so many people see grays, and why so recently.

Well if you look objectively at Abduction reports, Greys are not always the Abductors. The Greys dont seem to be very uniform either. Some aren't even Grey in color. Since I have no idea what exactly Dark Elves, Goblins, Kobolds, and other short scary creatures were thought to of looked like I cant say whether or not they would look like a Grey. They didn't look like anything from Tolkien or D&D.

I figure the stories about lights and orbs from both myth and UFO lore have more in common. There are stories of Faerie and Angels that look like light or balls of light. Out of the light a form emerges. Note according to folklore the form was simply whatever the Faerie wanted. I figure the form of the Grey is like that, its just one of the many forms that can be taken.
