She had Alzheimer's disease.

I won't say I condone this, but I will say I understand.

Your opinions, please.

There might have been a better, more humane way to go about it. But like you, I don't condone but absolutely understand. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease and just terrible to watch family members suffer from it. I can't imagine how painful it must have been for him and his wife.

I pray that I don't have to deal with the same issues in my life. Family history says that I probably will though.

I think if the patient is terminal and it is the patience wish then they should be able to make that decision when the time comes or have it as a clause in their will.

Ive watched a loved one die of cancer. It seems like pointless suffering. the law says i am not justified in assisting my loved one in death. If my dog is ill , i can put him down and it is humane. Why is it not considered humane with a human???? We deserve less?

Im not some opinionated dope who picked a topic to instigate ... it is something i truly feel strongly and sincerely about and have NEVER understood. I would love to hear the opposing side of the debate ... Im hoping to hear something besides suicide / murder is a sin. That wont convince me.

He killed her in front of other patients, not exactually the approach anyone wanted which is a bit barbaric but guess things got too much there for him and for some deluded reason he used a nutty aproach which made the headlines.
