you are better off to read the scriptures for yourself rather than get involved with a group that claims to be G-Ds church but are not maybe and end up getting confused by mens ideas instead of receiving G-Ds truth .if you think you must join a church at least first ------read the bible from end to end and then when you visit a group and find what they teach doesnt correspond with what you've read you can be prepared to move on if they wont change---------many people use the god they have in their minds as a crutch------well just in case there is a real god i better at least verbalize it because i want help if i get into life threatening trouble.my mother was similar----she said she believed in god but did precious little of what the G-D of the bible says we should be doing-------keeping the commandments--------loving G-D above all and neighbour as self.
