If the universe is infinite, can there be multiple or parallel universes?

The universe is far more vast then any one on earth will ever be able to appreciate. Considering that our own galaxy is something like 27 thousand light years away and that we've only scratched the surface of exploring our own back yard... It is a vacuum that is essentially unmeasurable by human standards.

The universe is also ever expanding. For example, in the milky way galaxy alone new stars are formed at rate of 6-7 new stars per year. While our solar system isnt expanding at such a rate due to gravitational dependancy, the universe as a whole is ever changing.
While a decades worth of time is 1/7th of an average human life span, 650 billion years for the universe is barely a blink.

As far as our place in the universe; it doesn't really matter. In 650 billion years none of us will be here and what we due today or tomorrow won't have mattered to anything or anybody. Human existence on a cosmic scale is insignificant.
