God I always love it when somebody suffers through removing something from their diet and then decides to try and take as many people along with them as they can. Misery loves company.

I've seen it all and I've heard it all. Spent a summer working in a dairy feedlot. Raised a couple cows when I was a kid. I'm unfazed. I still love a tall glass of cold milk (whole or 2%... skim is basically like pouring whole milk into a glass filled with ice, draining the milk off, and then drinking the milky water from the melted ice a while later.)

As difficult as it is for some folks to grasp, there are some of us in the world who simply don't care. Pus & blood in my milk, you say? Let's all greet our good friend pasteurization! Seriously, I once butchered a hog that had trichnosis worms in one flank. The only concession I made over that incident was making sure I cooked the hell out of every piece of meat from that hog before I ate it. So the revelation that my milk may have come from an udder with mastitis really doesn't bother me in the least. In fact, this has made me thristy for a glass of milk which I'm going to go take care of right now.

My son and I eat cereal in a bowl but with our hands, dry, like like munching granola. Both of us are lactose intolerant and we started to eat cereal this way. It WAS weird for a while but now we are used to it and enjoy it allot. We get a bowl of cereal and a large glass of pure water, and eat and drink.

When my son's friends are over they think we are strange.......oh well.

When i got into lifting weights, i started drinking much more milk than usual.

I never drank much milk before that, i used to be able to go for days without consuming hardly any dairy. I was not unhealthy at all, i was apart of the cross country team at school.

After increasing my weekly consumption of milk, i started getting acne, i have hardly ever had any spotsa in my life, maybe one or two at a single time. I started getting bad cystic acne all over my face.

I talked to someone about it and they suggested it was the milk. I stopped taking milk and went back to my normal milk consumption, i also changed my protein powder (which had milk protein mixed into it) to soya.

been about 2 years now and my spots are 100% gone. I have no doubt that the problem lay with the hormones in the milk. I don't know if that is the case with all people whom have acne, but for me that was certainly the problem.

What you had was NOT typical dairy that most folks get to ingest.

Most folks get to ingest "perverted dairy"...it has be changed from its' natural state, into something else after being processed, and THAT is the source of the dairy problems.

The professional liars of the world want us all to TRUST them [ fat chance ] because they have our best interests [ really their wallets and control over us ] at heart. Gee, where were they for the 1st 5,00 years we got along without them? how in the world did we ever survive without them? LMAO.... unfreaking believable....

I seem to remember some moaning a few months ago about potatos and potatochips causing cancer or some bs. Next someone will come up with a reason why apples and oranges are bad for us, but it will only stay for a week, because we all know there is so little proof to most of these claims that they must be replaced soon with another equally stupid one.

a cows milk is not an average thing in the human diet. cavemen never drunk cows milk. and if that was true we would all be still drinking our mothers breast milk rather than an animals. and before you say "calcium".......

Another milk fan here, drink about 2 pints a day on average.

Can understand why some can't drink it, but for me it's probably the main drink i drink at home.

Drank milk my whole life, love it always have. Except for the period when my parents got this free food processor by buying so many cases of powdered milk. I could not even stand that crap in cereal. I'm 53 now, sometimes a little lactose intolerant, don't stand down wind but I still drink it.
I could switch to beer in my cereal (can you say, Snap Crackle Burp).
When a cow laughs, does milk come out its nose?

I have Crohn's disease. I used to drink a gallon of 2% milk every 2-3 days for about 10 years. I was one of those who was raised to believe milk did a body good. So i drank it all the time and actually loved the stuff. Fast forward to 02'. Diagnosed with Crohn's at age 20. I continued to drink milk and eat milk based products. I was on a pharmacutical cocktail who's side effects were almost as bad as my symptoms.

My Dr. told me it was an autoimmune disease. That my body thought there was an infection in my intestines and that in response was trying to fight a non existant infection thus creating inflammation and scar tissue from the lesions in my gut. At face value at the time it sounded right.

I then began doing my own reading, my own research, and came to the conclusion my body wasn't fighting a non-existent infection, it was fighting a parasite, the parasite you have also researched MAP. Now from my understanding MAP doesn't effect everyone, some people can eliminate it effectivly, a select few like myself are genetically pre disposed to not be able to fight this parasite. I stopped drinking milk and cut back on dairy products in general. My symptoms are not gone, the scar tissue is there, damage has been done, but I live med free and my symptoms have not gotten worse in 6 years. Coincidence?

Recent studies are starting to link crohn's to E.Coli.

"Our findings raise the possibility that a novel group of E. coli contains opportunistic pathogens that may be causally related to chronic intestinal inflammation in susceptible individuals," said Kenneth Simpson, professor of small animal medicine at the College of Veterinary Medicine and the paper's senior author. "They suggest that an integrated approach that considers an individual's mucosa-associated flora in addition to disease phenotype and genotype may improve outcome," he said.

Either way you want to look at it, milk does not do a body good, it is poison for the human body. You can get vitamans and calcium elsewhere.

i was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis 2 years ago. i used to drink plenty of milk (i worked i a milk factory 12 hour shifts, i could drink as much milk as i wanted) but never suspected that was the cause, i was brainwashed into thinking milk was good for me. the doctors told me: "its your immune system attacking your nervous system, its caused by either your genes or an infection, youve got inflammation and scar tissue in your brain and spinal chord, there's no cure, and changing your diet will not help as its got nothing to do with what your eating". so they left me feeling like there's nothing i can do for myself other than take their drugs and hope for the best. a month before i was due to start the drugs (i was on crutches at this point) i went on google and typed in "best cure for multiple sclerosis" read loads and loads till i eventually came across this: notmilk.com... . i found out milk is connected to 100's of diseases including mine and yours, and decided im quitting dairy products. within 3 days, i repeat, 3 DAYS all multiple sclerosis symptoms totally vanished, i didnt need crutches anymore and i was able to beat my friend in a race. a year later just to prove to myself (and other people who didnt believe me) that it was the milk and not some crazy co-incidence, i ate a chocolate bar and lost all feeling in my legs for the rest of the day.
its got to the point where im so healthy that i dont even believe ive got multiple sclerosis at all and its just a dairy allergy. ive tried telling doctors its the milk but they dont listen

You guys should do some reading regarding milk and Crohn's Disease. With over 2 million cases in the US alone, that means 1 in every 150 citizens suffer from this disease. Modern medicine calls it an autoimmune disorder, but private research has shown that milk and a virus called MAP that lives in cows may be the culprit.

[edit on 2-11-2006 by BluByWho]

and multiple sclerosis, also an autoimmune disorder probably caused by drinking cow juice. my symptoms disappeared once i stopped drinking the cow juice and avoiding all dairy products

Really? I've been drinking milk since I could remember, and I still do. My bones are strong, and I'm kind of tall. I see no problem with milk, and I would like to see some more evidence concerning this "DUDE, DONT DRINK MILK IT'S COW PUS, MAN!" claim.

your bones might be ok for now but how old are you? have you ever had acne? theres so many health problems linked to milk its crazy
some evidence for you here notmilk.com...

Flag, star, and geese. Check out Notmilk.com for all the data on this topic you'll ever need. The only animal that should drink cow's milk are very young calves. And they stop after a short time. Milk and its by-products have been called "liquid meat" by vegan activists, and all you have to do to stop drinking it is not pick up the glass. I'm surprised how so many intelligent people are still drinking milk - the thought of doing so is disgusting enough to make me click away from this thread. Good luck, .

Milk is crap. You're only supposed to drink milk from your moms boobie. The purpose of it is to fatten you up, why the # would you drink it just to drink it?! When I stopped eating all dairy products completely I stopped getting sick and dropped weight like I had some weird disease.
