It's the same thing, you just don't get it.
Not sure what it is you think I don't get????
?? That Paris want to get a tan, and Bollywood stars don't want that tan ??
My point is ignorance makes dark skinned people use these hazardous products, as it makes fair skinned people go in the sun to obtain that 'exotic'
tan. Originally that was a concept based on the discovery of vitamines A & D provided by the sun. It was in the thirties and the foundation of a
fascist health conceptions and many outdoor movements.
It was contrary to previous conceptions, like pointed out by shadow_D, but the current conception, that excess UV gives skin cancers, has yet to
prevail over the present western notion, that a tan signals health.
A recent miss universe from India, was asked how she kept her skin so beautiful, and she answered: To keep it covered from the sun. Basic and ancient
old knowledge in that part of the world.
I live in SE Asia, and nowadays they all have television and will use whitners on their skin if they can afford it.
