Apologies if this is in the wrong section, wasn't sure. Talked to a retired-military relative over the holidays. Can't remember how this came up but
he was telling me about the testing of a short-burst, laser cannon/laser gun kind of thing somewhere on the Great Salt Lake. The salt bed was used
somehow as a giant conductor, I believe? Can't recall if that's exactly what it was, but I know salt is a good conductor of electricity.
I was told that a friend had told him that when the gun fired it knocked a lot of people on the ground, as a result of a massive jolt going through
the salt. Is there info. on this testing somewhere? A cursory look hasn't turned up anything.
