Two astronauts have carried out a spacewalk to complete the wiring for the newest room on the space station.

Commander Peggy Whitson and Daniel Tani hooked up connections linking the platform and the Harmony compartment.

Harmony will become the docking port for a new European laboratory being added to the orbiting outpost.

The shuttle is due for liftoff on December sixth; the spacewalk took seven plus hours and various astro/cosmonauts have logged serious spacewalk hours in the 20+ range.

The 100th day of ISS construction is today!

Huh? ISS construction began in the 90s. 1998 wasn't it? How is today the 100th day?

Seems like a good opportunity to post a pic of the current state of the station (I wonder... maybe NASA could occasionally air a State of the Station address
)

...agreed about press conferences for all these happenings but obviously, it's not like NASA or the current government to get excited about the space program.

The article mentioned that time period and I'm guessing that's days logged for construction vs science and whatever else they do/and will be doing in there.

Nice shot of the ISS w/ the solar, supposedly there's more solar panel damage and the shuttle crew is going to help try and repair that.
