A warning of false prophets

This one is about a woman named Ellen White. She was a 19th century prophet though she never clamed that title for her self she did say that she was to address her self as a messenger of God. To see if some one is a real prophet there are several tests, Bible versus that explain what the signs of a prophet are which I will touch on a little bit later. Something that is important to understand is that God doesn’t only use men as prophets, and not all prophets have scripture in the Bible. Looking at both the old and new testaments we see some examples of this with Nathan, Gad, Mariam, Holdah, and Deborah; and for the New Testament we have Simeon, John the Baptist, Anna Agabus, Banabas, and Phillip’s four daughters.

When Ellen White was in the third grade one of the students through a stone at her hitting her just on top of the nose. She was no longer able to attend school beyond the third grade it left her disfigured, frail, and very weak. Mrs. White was a Methodist and she embraced the Mille rite movement. She never had an education above the third grade, but that being said how could she be a prophet? And if she was a prophet then how did she become a writer? How is that the only rival she has in literary expertise in prophecy is Alice A. Bailey? Could it be because there are prophets on both sides? Well, First things first.

Manuscript 88, year 1900. “The Lord had said, “Write out these things which I shall give you.” And I commenced when very young to do this work. My hand that was feeble and trembling because of infirmities became steady as soon as I took the pen in my hand, and since those first writings I have been able to write.”

This proves that God can use anyone he wants to do anything. This woman was very feeble and weak, and never had more than a third grade education, yet she has written dozens of books. God can even use animals from what I understand at one point he even used a donkey. This is proof that we have an awesome God, but for another test. Did she exult the law and word of God or did she exult man? Well, I’ll let her tell you because she makes it pretty clear herself.

“The holy scriptures is to be excepted as an authoritative, infallible revelation of his will. They are the standard of character, the revealer of doctrines, and the test of experience.” Selected Messages V.2 P.48

“Cling to your Bible as it reads and stop your criticism in regard to its validity and obey the word, and not one of you shall be lost.” Selected Messages V.1 P18

“The Bible and the Bible alone are to be our creed, the sole bond of union. God’s word is infallible. Lift up the banner on which is inscribed the Bible, our rule of faith and discipline.” Selected Messages V.1 P416

Now that we have an idea of whose side she is on lets take a look at some of her prophecies. The first prophecy is here is very important. Not only does it give a warning about the Man of Sin, but it is also a direct link to almost all of my other works in the past.

“Call to expose the man of sin. – In the very time in which we live the Lord has called his people and has given them a message to bear. He has called them to expose the wickedness of the man of sin who has made the Sunday Law a distinctive power, who has thought to change times and laws, and to oppress the people of God who stand firmly to honor him by keeping the true Sabbath, the Sabbath of creation, as holy unto the lord.” Testimonies To Ministers P.118 Year 1903

“In the world gigantic monopolies will be formed. Men will bind themselves together in unions that will wrap them in folds of the enemy. “A few men will combine to grasp all the means to be obtained in certain lines of business. Trades unions will be formed, and those who refuse to join these unions will be marked men.”

“We do not go deep enough in our search for truth. Every soul who believes present truth will be brought where he will be required to give a reason of the hope that is in him. The people of God will be called upon to stand before kings, princes, rulers, and great men of the Earth, and they must know that they do know what is truth. They must be converted men and women. God can teach you more in one moment by his holy spirit than you could learn from the great men of the Earth. The universe is looking upon the great controversy that is going on upon the Earth.”

Warnings of secret societies and the man of sin.

“This terrible picture (Book of Revelation) drawn by John to show how completely the powers of the Earth will give themselves over to evil, should show those who have received the truth how dangerous it is to link up with secret societies or to join in any way those who do not keep God’s commandments.”

“By a variety of images the Lord Jesus represented to John the wicked character and seductive influence of those who have been distinguished for there persecution of God’s people. All need wisdom carefully to search out the mystery of inequity that figures so largely in the winding up of this Earths history. God’s presentation of the detestable works of the inhabitance of the ruling powers of the world who bind themselves into secret societies and confederacies, not honoring the laws of God should enable the people who have the light of truth to keep clear of all these evils. More and more will all false religions of the world manifest their evil doings; for there are two parties. Those who keep the commandments of God and those who war against God’s holy law.”

“While erring to the children of men as a great physician who can heal all their maladies, he will bring disease and disaster, until populace cities are reduced to ruins and desolation. Even now he is at work. In accidence and calamities by sea and land, in great conflagrations, in fierce tornadoes, terrific hailstorms, in earthquakes, tempests, floods, cyclones, and tidal waves in every place and in thousands of formats. Satan is exorcising his power. He sweeps away the ripening harvest and famine and distress fallow.”

I don’t know about some of you, but watching the world these days and past it really seems possible that she is very accurate with these prophecies. It would seem that these prophecies are still in action and are not yet completely fulfilled. Are we not seeing these disasters accelerate? Next I have two very interesting prophecies that some of the conspiracy theorists might find very interesting.

“A view of great destruction last Friday morning. Just before I woke, a very impressive scene was presented before me. I seemed to awake from my sleep, but was not in my home. From the windows I could behold a terrible conflagration. Great balls of fire were falling upon houses, and from these balls fiery arrows were flying in every direction. It was impossible to check the fires that were kindled, and many places were being destroyed. The terror of the people was indescribable. At the time I woke and found myself at home.” Letter 278. 1906

“When I was last in New York, I was in the night season called to behold buildings rising story after story toward heaven. These buildings were warranted to be fireproof, and they were erected to glorify the owners. Higher and higher these buildings still rose, and in them the most costly materials were used”… The scene that next passed before me was an alarm of fire. Men looked at lofty and supposedly fireproof buildings, and said “They are perfectly safe,” but these buildings were consumed as if made of pitch. The fire engines could do nothing to stay the destruction. The firemen were unable to operate the engines.”

Ellen White had many visions given to her and many of these prophecies seem to be very accurate, but the ones im writing next are just simply amazing. Lets see how accurate her prophecies about health and diet are shall we?

She wrote in 1864: “Tobacco is a poison of the most deceitful and malignant kind, having the exciting and the paralyzing influence upon the nerves of the body. It is all the more dangerous because of its effects upon the system are so slow, and at first scarcely perceivable. Multitudes have fallen victims of its poisonous influence.”

Now most people will say so what? Its no prophecy because every one knows its bad for you, but what most don’t know is that in this time that tobacco was often suggested to fight lung problems. It wasn’t known to be bad for you till 1957 when the American cancer society and the American heart association put together a team of scientist that found that it caused cancer and heart disease. So, How could she have known this in 1864? These next prophecies are concerning diet.

“Soon butter will never be recommended, and after a time milk will be discarded entirely, for disease in animals is increasing in proportion to the wickedness among men. The time will come when there will be no safety in eating eggs, milk, cream, or butter.”

Are we seeing an increase or a decrease in the safety of our food these days?

“Flesh was never the best food, but its use is now doubly objectionable, since disease in animals is so rapidly increasing.”

“If milk is used, it should be thoroughly sterilized with this precaution, there is less danger from contracting disease from its use. Butter is les harmful when eaten on cold bread than when used in cooking; but, as a rule, it is better to dispense with it all together. Cheese is still more objectionable; it is wholly unfit for food.”

“Cheese should never be introduced into the stomach.”

“Let the diet reform be progressive. Let the people be taut how to prepare food without the use of milk or butter. Tell them that the time will soon come where there will be no safety in using eggs, milk, cream, or butter, because the disease in animals is increasing in proportion to the wickedness in man. The time is near when, because of the inequity of the fallen race, the whole animal creation will groan under the diseases that curse the Earth.”

“In all parts of the world, previsions will be made to supply the place of milk and eggs, and the Lord will let us know when the time comes to give up these articles. He desires all to feel that they have a gracious heavenly father who will instruct them in all things. The Lord will give dietetic art and skill to his people in all parts of the world, teaching them how to use, for the sustenance of life, the products of the Earth.” Counsel on Diet and Foods. P.359

In regards to milk and sugar: “I know of persons who have become frightened at the health reform, and said they would have nothing to do with it, because it has spoken against free use of these things. Changes should be made with great care, and we should move cautiously and wisely. We want to take that course which will recommend itself to the intelligent men and women of the land. Large quantities of milk and sugar eaten together are injurious. They import impurities to the system. Sugar clogs the system. It hinders the working of the living machine.”

In a study at a university a couple of years ago it was found that people who mix milk and sugar and drink it before they go to sleep have a higher chance of dieing in there sleep than most because the combination does a whole lot to clog the arteries.

Some one may try and attempt to explain this as a remarkable fault by saying: “Mrs. White simply barrowed her ideas from others.” But how would she know which ideas to barrow and which ones to reject out the bewildering array of the theories and health teachings current in the 19th century? Not bad for a woman with a 3rd grade education if you ask me. Another thing to consider is that she never, not once, claimed to be a prophet. Many gave her the title as prophet, and even though she didn’t argue it, She never called herself that. I have a quote to make my point here.

“I have never claimed to be a prophetess. I have not stood before the people claiming this title, though many have called me this, I have been instructed to say, “I am God’s messenger, sent to bear a message of reproof to the erring and of encouragement to the meek and lowly.” With pen and with voice I am to bear the messages given me. The word given me is, “you are faithfully to reprove those who would mar the faith of the people of God. Write out the things which I give you, that they may stand as a witness to the truth till the end of time.”

It would seem that her prophecies have or soon will be fulfilled, but does that alone make her a true prophet of God? The only way to be sure is to see if she meats the physical attributes of a true prophet. I have found some eye witness accounts of her visions that will either prove or disprove her status as a prophet of God, but first let us look at these attributes as explained in the Bible.

1. A true prophet’s message must be in harmony with the word and the laws of God. Isaiah 8:20
2. A true prophet’s predictions must come true.
3. A true prophet edifies God’s people. Cur. 14:3.4
4. A true prophet exults Christ as the Son of God. Luke 24:27
5. A prophet speaks with authority. Mathew 7:29
6. A true prophet will bear good fruit. Mathew 7:20
7. A true prophet will exhibit physical signs when in vision.

A. A prophets eyes are open during vision.
B. A true prophet first falls down lacking strength.
C. The prophet will receive superhuman strength.
D. The prophet will have no breath. Daniel Ch. 10

Well, we have a pretty good idea that she has attributes 1-6, but what about number 7? Does she have the physical attributes of a prophet of God?

Account 1: “In passing into vision, she gives 3 enrapturing shouts of “Glory!” which echo and reecho, the second, and especially the third, fainter but more thrilling than the first, the voice resembling that of one quite a distance from you, and just going out of hearing. For about 4 or 5 seconds she seems to drop down like a person in a swoon or one having lost his strength, she then seems to be filled with superhuman strength, sometimes rising at once to her feet and walking about the room. There are freakwent movements of the hands and arms pointing to the right or left as her head turns. All these movements are made to a most graceful manner. In whatever positions the hand or arm may be placed, it is impossible for anyone to move it. Her eyes are always open, but she doesn’t wink, her head is razed and looking upward not with vacant star but with a pleasant expression.”

Account 2: “She walked back and forth and talked to us, and as she walked, she fell right down. She fell down gently. She went down as if an angels hands were under her… Sister White lay perfectly quiet and unconscious… Her eyes were open, with a pleasant expression on her face. Nothing unnatural or unusual… Brother White said to these large men, “take her hands apart. You have two hands to her one. Just pull her hands apart.” So they tried. They pulled and pulled till some of us got anxious that they would hurt her. Brother White said, “Don’t be anxious. She is safe in God’s keeping, and you can pull until you are perfectly satisfied.” They said, “We are satisfied now. We don’t need to pull any more.” He said, “Take up one finger at a time.” That was impossible. They couldn’t do so much as pull a finger. It seemed like a block of granite… Brother White said to these men, “Now hold her.” I think they thought they could. They grasped her by the wrists, but they couldn’t retard the motions. It looked like any child could hold her, but she went on just the same. Brother White said, “Now we must see if her eyelids will close.” There was a large Rochester (kerosene) Lamp close by on the stand. He removed the shade and put this light right in from of her eyes. We all thought she would move her eyes to protect them. She didn’t. She was perfectly unconscious… The eyelids did not close… “Now,” Brother White said, “We must see if there is any breathe in her body.” There didn’t seem to be any. Every thing looked all right, only there was no breathe. Brother White said, “Now we have to send for a mirror, and we will test it.” So someone went next door and got a mirror, and it was help close to her face, but no moisture gathered. So there was no breathing. Two physicians came in, an old man and a young man. Brother White was anxious that they should examine Sister White closely. Which they did. A looking glass was brought, and one of them held it over her mouth while she talked, but very soon they gave this up, and said, “She doesn’t breathe.” Then they closely examined her sides as she spoke to find some evidence of deep breathing, but they didn’t find it. As they closed this part of the examination, she arose to her feet, still in vision, holding a Bible high up, turning from passage to passage quoting correctly, although her eyes were looking upward and away from the book… After Sister White rose to her feet, as they have stated, quoting the texts of scripture. Doctor Fleming called for a lighted candle. He held this candle as near to her lips as possible without burning, and in direct line with her breathe in case she breathed. There was not the slightest flicker of the blaze. The doctor then said with emphasis. “That settles it forever, there is no breathe in her.”

It would appear to me that so fare she has done a pretty good job of filling the attributes of a true prophet, but only time will tell. She has written well over a dozen books and did a whole lot to get the 7th Day Adventist movement worldwide. Rather you believe or like the 7th Day Adventists or not they are still the only real major player in an opposition to a one-world religion. So keep an eye on them, because they are soon to be hit really hard, and that will be a good indicator for everyone concerning end times prophecy. I’ll close with one more final quote from one of her books.

“Already the judgments of God are abroad in the land, as seen in storms, in floods, in tempests, in earthquakes, in peril by land and by sea. The great I AM is speaking to those who make void his law. When God’s wrath is poured out upon the Earth, who will then be able to stand? Now is the time for God’s people to show themselves true to principle. When the religion of Christ is most held in contempt, when his law is most despised, then should our zeal be the warmest and our courage and firmness the most unflinching. To stand in defense of truth and righteousness when the majority forsake us, to fight the battle of the Lord when champions are few – this will be our test. At this time we must gather warmth from the coldness of others, courage from there cowardice, and loyalty from there treason. The nation will be on the side of the great rebel leader.”

I've heard of Ellen White ... I've also had injuries to my nose ... didn't leave me weak and frail ... just a nose job years later. Of course, God can use whomever He wants ... God doesn't choose us to do bad work ... that's our free will.
False prophets we need to be aware of are those around us today ....

99% of people that claim to prophets are fakes. I remember watching a documentary in 1999 about the whole "year 2000 world ending thingy" and just about every psychic/prophet they interviewed said something terrible was going to happen to the earth when the clock struck midnight, up until then I had a bit of belief in prophecies but now I have none

Is she talking about the Anti Christ? If not, who was she referring to? It sounds like she believed the A.C. was alive in their time (the mid 1800's). If I am reading that correctly, she got the prophecy wrong.
