First incident occured on 27 February 1949 at Los Alamos New Mexico airstrip. Report made by a Lt. H.E. Dey, Section III, AESS (Atomic Energy(?) Security Service)to a Lt. H.D. Hightower Protective Force A.E.S.S.

Lt. Dey say a green, self luminous object fly parrallel to the ground for aproximately two seconds before vanishing. He states that it did not fly out of sight but simply vanished. Considered inconclusive but credible due to background check of Lt. Dey.

The second is a report orginating from the office of the AC of S, Headquarter Fourth Army, Fort Sam Houstin Texas.

The report was made by a M/Sgt. John P. Mitchell (02-17-49 0552hrs)an M.P. at Sandia Base New Mexico who saw a globular red/orange ball with a blue flame trail failing like a plane that had been hit by anti-aircraft fire.

It is noted in the report that Mitchell had served as an anti-aircraft gunner and that he had made mention that the object was in range of multiple .50 calibre anti-aircraft guns. Sighting lasted 5-7 seconds.

Marvin May and part of incident 255 is mentioned and a copy of May's report included in the package evidently because of Professor Mays crediblity.

The whole package seems to have been forwarded by a Captain Oliver M. Noland of the USAF to I believe either Bolin or CO of Kirtland.

Other incidents referenced in document are 255, 273, 274, 275 and 278 or 276 hard to read that one.

Page 16 is a letter from a colonel(AF?) but the letter and name of the colonel are nearly impossible to read.

Tone of package/report is that the air force and army were certainly taking this seriously at the time.

These reports were more sightings investigated by Dr. Lincoln LaPaz and fit into similar reports of Green Fireballs. What I find interesting is that these objects didn’t travel in straight trajectories and on page 4, the report said “As the object turned, it bent around the corners, similar in appearance at the turns as a piece of bent pipe.” The other witnesses also describe the objects as changing shape and were larger than a meteor and disappeared before they were too far to go out of sight.
