Archivist's Notes: Much of the document is illegible. Enough survives to show this was a wide-ranging investigation in an attempt to find the impact point of this low-flying green fireball. They even interviewed a 10-year old child in depth. Airplanes and ground detachments were used in the search. US Army also involved. Lots of personnel resources were used. Lincoln La Paz, PhD, was used as a consultant and interviewer. They were looking for the impact spot.

This document contains a few reports of the Green Fireballs sightings in the area of New Mexico in the late Forties. This particular document is interesting because many witnesses claimed to hear a high pitched wining sound or that of a WW2 buzz bomb, as well as some saying they saw it disintegrate into a shower of fragments. These sightings led investigators to search for an impact area and went house to house looking for witnesses.

Green fireballs were being seen in New Mexico and many suggested they could have been Russian spy satellites or they could be of extraterrestrial origin. Dr. Lincoln LaPaz studied the phenomenon and many of these cases were well recorded in Project Grudge.
