Reptillian Transformation Investigation/Debunking Request

Hello, everyone.

I'm sure most of us are aware of the flurry of youtube videos posted by people claiming to show reptilian aliens in the midst of transforming.

Maybe these videos are showing transforming aliens. Maybe they're video compression defects. Maybe it's something else completely. I don't know.

But...

I do know that watching another thousand of these videos isn't going to convince me that these are aliens. But, if the effect is simply a result of video compression, it should be relatively simple to reproduce the effect, right?

So...I would like to invite people to try to deliberately reproduce these same types of distortions by compressing, or converting ordinary videos.

Please submit a link to the original, as well as the distorted version, along with a description of the software you used, and the type, manner and settings of the compression/conversion that produced the effect. Please also describe how you captured the video, whether you recorded it yourself, with what equipment, software, etc. If this is all just a common compression error, I want explicit instructions on how to consistently reproduce it, so that others can take your video and recreate the distortions themselves. If we can do this, maybe we can put a rest to these reptilian transformation video theories.

And if no one is able to do it...that will be interesting.

Please note that:

1) The effect does not limit itself to exposed flesh. These videos frequently show similar distortions on the clothing. However, I have never seen one of these alleged transformation videos in which the distortion effect extended off the body area of the person in question. Your reproduction attempt must not bleed-through into area around the person.

2) The effect routinely "follows" facial contours of the people in these videos, even through rapid body motion and extreme angle changes.

In this one, in addition to the distortion, the reporter makes "hissing" noises, and apparently there is some sort of commotion, where the producers (apparently) cut in to the audio heard only by the reporters. Interestingly, the reporter hears it, stops and comments, and points to her temple to comment that "she could hear" whereas the male reporter is pointing to his earpiece. Also notice that while the distortion extends over the clothing she is wearing, the shape of the distortion is a consistent oval shape, apparently following the outline of the necklace she is wearing.

For this video, here's the observation of one of the posters: (corrected for spelling)

"Very interesting that the distortion follows when she moves. Notice how she leans in around 3:11, then around 3:13-3:14 she suddenly tilts her head forward and then leans back. Throughout this, the splotches stay in place, even as the angle of her facial surfaces to the camera change significantly. Then, once up, there's a momentary warping of the effect inwards towards the center of her forehead. I also notice that her voice sounds hoarse throughout. Interesting."

I'm currently reading one of David Icke's hilarious books, so I'm obviously in the mood for this kind of thing. Sorry, but I can't really see anything remotely compelling in these videos, the "transformations" are either video issues or someone has been fiddling around with them, in a very minor fashion.

No doubt David's pretty excited at these new contributions to the fantasy fun-park of his zany world! These will no doubt be touted as evidence in his next book, which will be fitting for a man who most commonly references his own (bizarrely researched) work in the footnotes of his books. Himself and the enlightened few who aren't part of the "reptilian agenda" (eeeeep!).

I especially like the end of that chap's post:

Heh, heh. Granted, the possibility of a newsreader having a sore throat is pushing credulity too far! It's all a bit like that film "They Live", no doubt Mr. Icke and his minions are waiting to intercept a shipment of special glasses that will expose these fiendish Lizard-men!

I always find it interesting the names that people choose for themselves.

Maybe you're right. Maybe it's all just silliness. But you and a thousand other people ridiculing the idea isn't any more meaningful than the thousand people insisting that aliens are impersonating reporters on national tv. So let's all stop mindlessly repeating our baseless beliefs and go actually test this.

I say again: If this effect is a compression error, it should be completely trivial for someone to deliberately and consistently reproduce it.

So somebody go do it, then post before and after links, and explain how they did it.

Yeah, there is some force at work here...
I often see these theories being debunked by users with the most curious of usernames...

but it's like lordbucket said; should be easily replicated if it is fake.

Here's an idea, why not do it yourself?


Your asking user / users to spend time working through every codec and possible encoding pipeline senario to prove something that is quite obviously a load of old tosh. Most people aren't going to spend the time required to do a 'detailed study' such as this.

It would be much more productive to do some simple research into how compression artifacts occur and work. This is what many users have been trying to explain, but alas it's like shouting at a deaf man. No one is going to spend this ammount of time doing work for someone if they aren't prepared to do the majority themselves. If you decide to do most of it yourself, then no doubt other ATS'ers will come in and help where they can if they see you are serious.

Even considering youtube video source as proof of anything is patently rediculous. Its encoded so badly that it's possible to get away with anything, the loss in quality is dramatic. Good quality HD footage for a reputable source is the only way to start even mentioning proof on anything here on ats. Personally I refuse point blank to consider youtube footage as proof of anything but bad compresion, attention seeking hoaxers and the guillabilty of people at times. Now good quality footage...thats a different matter....

Umm, I'm sorry, I don't see it. I realize you're talking about the eyes, and not the distortions we were talking about, but I've seen my own eyes turn deep metallic red on camera, and I don't think I'm an alien. I believe all you need to do to reproduce the effect is look directly into the camera under strong lighting.

Also, what exactly is it you're claiming to have "personally made" other than slowing it down and adding an audio track?
