Mars Rover- Interesting Images

Hey guys

Just been looking through some of the new panoramic rover images. When I cam across this interesting Sol of 24 images. What ever it is must have been of some interest to Nasa as the Rover took several shots of the same piece of ground.





I dont want this to be "OMG LOOK LIFE ON MARS" post. As I have no clue what this is. My only thought is that its some sort of reflection from the rover. IF thats true then could this be ice?

Knowing my luck the Image archive will suddenly disapear from the internet as soon as it gets more hits. So I have taken some Screenies of the web page just incase.

Sooooo anyone have any clues or thoughts as to what we are seeing in these images?

It has all the appearances of a freshly drilled hole by the rover. This is a standard test done by both Mar's rovers.

The first photos from the strip appear to show the same rock formation before drilling. A spot was chosen and subsequently drilled.

Interesting though.

I found this in another SOL on a different camera.... case closed

Haha, case closed I'd say. Was just going to say that it's probably too small to be anything significant, so most probably something which the rover itself caused. Here's a close-up I found which looks a lot more like an imprint into the sand, which it probably is.

I guess there was some good to this "i cant think straight on a wednesday morning" thread of mine. We have discovered the the rovers are just like men... I mean they must get lonely up there.. so they stick their... "drilling tool" iin to the ground. Sadly though Nasa caught him this time... Naughty
