I am anti war as well, I have seen what it does, what it did to my father and what its done to me but I will never regret joining and I will never
bash our soldiers and servicemen for serving, War is hell...Thats all I can say. I cannot expect anbody to understand what ive seen and been through
and the friends ive seen some home in a box, I have two friends buried in Arlington so now that I am a civilan I can agree with you about being anti
war...........
I have mixed feeling about the wars we are in now and sometimes they are necassary to protect our daily lives, etc. I have the upmost respect for the
soliders who are doing good, etc.
I was taught also that being a solider isn't always about war, it's about helping when needed. Wheather that be food, shelther, or defending freedom
or someone's home from an invader, etc.
Well sir that is your opinion and I respect that, However you say for me to go back to my glorifying..Well let me tell you something Mr anti- war,
There is no glory in seeing american soldiers give their lives for a war that I am not even fond of anymore. My service to this country was volunteer
and I did it proudly so I do not even understand why you have to come at me personally for being proud of my military service, Im not the only person
on ATS to serve proudly and voice their opinion about serving proudly, Im here to simply say hate the war but not our military personnel, I feel we
should not be there anymore either but it takes real character and integrity to join the armed forces these days, Long hours and not the best of pay.
So stop the personal attacks against me because Im proud of what ive accomplished, Are you not proud of the things you have accomplished in your life?
Well I am and proud of our military, Hate all you want when it comes to the GWOT but stop taking shots at myself and others just because thats the job
we chose. Good day to you sir.
I say that the soldiers that go and fight the wars are impressive people.
I say that the generals and the commanders are impressive people.
They take their orders from the President and ask no questions.
However, I'm not sure how a soldier could fight in Iraq or Afghanistan and not feel betrayed by our President. It just seems like a lousy mission.
But such is the nature of war.
I believe, regardless of the motives, President Bush will be revered by the History books.
He made a big-time decision to STOP these middle Eastern clowns before the got Nuclear or before they took over a sovereign country like Pakistan
which has Nuclear arms.
Yes, from the comfort of our couches and porches, we can find errors in his judgment but you can't argue with the premise. The play was a bold step
to secure our future.
Africa is a big problem too.
Something must be done with Africa. They are in worse shape than anyone. And could easily become terroristic minded and anti-American.
